I thought it might be nice to have a promotion drop for comics that contain mature themes. Blood/gore/abuse all the way to that sweet sweet love lol.

Mine is mostly violence/gore/abuse, and I guess mature themes with torture and moral issues.

I'll personally be looking to follow mature themes/ gore/abuse.
Look forward to seeing the others out there.

Hey I'm actually already subbed to your comic lol.

Anyway, my work is also mature rated, I do love me some gore y'know.

The Ghoul (which is a complete comic btw) is the more traditional Mature with blood gore, a single nipple, and a little bit of abuse (more in themes than actually on screen)

Classic Fantasy (which is my ongoing work) is also mature, and even though it has half naked chicks jumping around on screen most of the time, the outrageous aesthetics aren't the real reason I tag it as mature. It will have it's fair share of gore (par for the course for action, but I love gore, so I don't shy away from showing grevious wounds), and some mature themes waaaay later down the line (because I'm a fucking pessimist, that's why):

Let me tell you a story.

I've got a lot of mature love stuff in my novel (BDSM kidnapper and captive). I thought I knew what my followers wanted. Lots of tying people to bedroom furniture, every kind of spank toy, name calling, thigh high boots, all in the book. Theres ONE love act that hadn't been in the story yet. My novel is already written so I waited for THAT chapter to come up. I was looking forward to it because I thought the ONE thing that hadn't been in the story would be yet another welcome addition.

Basically, it turned out to be the ONE love "act" that the readers didn't like, lol. It's not even that wild, fam. It's not kink, not something typically squicky (like i dunno omorashi or feet or something like that). But let me tell you tapas readers did NOT like it. I think it's because they never do this in anime? Like, even in hentai? So my theory is that anime fans aren't used to reading it so they unsubscribed.

I lost a grip of followers. People keep unfollowing as they read up to it. It is like, legend status. I was so mad but my friends talked me down and now its hilarious. I will get notifications like "so and so liked ten chapters in a row..." and ill wait for them to get there and see if they duck. I now talk about it with my friends as "that" chapter.

Anyway, I don't even know if I'm allowed to say it on the forums. Here is the chapter that tapas couldn't handle:

The reason my comic is for mature audience is for the bloody violence, gore and profanity, at this point. There will be more Mature themes down the line and that's why there's the 18+ label in the left bottom corner.

the first chapter just wrapped up and compared to future chapters it's pretty tame but it gets more M rated as it goes on

excessive violence/blood/gore/themes of sexual abuse/CSA /psychological abuse/drug and achohol use/body horror

most of it is a very dialogue-heavy thriller but well, tags are necessary with the topic the story's about.

This is a novel, but I'm not the first in the thread. so, feel free to ignore if you're not looking for that.

It's got a loooot of swearing (explained in-story) and some heavy subject matter in the character backstories.

lol, I'm excited and intrigued to read it. also thanks for the heads up on tapas bases having possible turns. Did they let you know they didn't like it or was it all guessing work on your end?? (m starting at the beginning when I read it btw so I can have the whole experience)

Well, I try to not chock if unecessary, but there are a lot of mature themes in my comic : Strong langage, violence, drug use, sex, abuse (physical, mental, sexual...).
I'm sure i could add more to the list if i took a closer look to it :blank:

Hellou!
I'm always a bit hesitant to promote, because my series is a very slow burn comic in a lot of ways

Overall it's a crime themed thriller, very noir-style with an LGBTQ+ cast and BL later on, but the focus lies on character development and the rock bottom one can hit. It contains (.. or will contain) blood, violence, drugs, sex, weapons but most importantly deep psychological/mental issues and suspense.

I'm actually very interested in reading other stories of that kind, but I found it quite hard to find

COMPLETE guess. My "anime fans don't like this" is totally a theory. When I wrote that ONE thing in fanfiction people loved it. Lol you don't need to read my whole book. If you read the chapter its like, right at the beginning. WHAM

I was explaining to my writing group that when AC was a book, the scene was tucked into a chapter. Because of Tapas word count limits I had to break up the chapter. The scene didn't fit into the one before or after so it became a standalone. It doesn't work so great out of context

I'mma put mine up here bc it falls under the sweet-sweet love-making part hahah. It's also a long-form comic and slow burn, but I don't shy away from showing the members of the cast that have a more sexual nature engaging it when the time comes up (I don't fade to black). That said, It's not the main focus of the story, but I just believe in it being ok to express sexual desire without it having to straight-up be all about sex. I can only get away with so much on this site so I have to censor and even omit pages later on, but ayee it's my vision haha.

Lessee what else, Oh also non-sexual nudity yeahhhhhhh!

I have a pretty damn heavy illustrated novel here. It deals with some pretty heavy stuff like abuse, body horror and with a very bleak and hopeless atmosphere during the entire thing due to the characters situations being more or less inescapable. (But boy do they try)

Bloody imagery, mutilation, gore, sexual themes later down the line are what to expect. However its it's a slow burn and build so it builds up to this.

Well mine has themes of kidnapping ,human trafficking (attempted) , mild-sexual content in the first parts though it was actually a plot-heavy romance story with mystery solving...
it's also omegaverse so yeah imma leave it here...

My story is a horror, so there are some scenes of graphic violence and a little gore. People get eaten alive as well.

Great thread that's right up my alley! GHOST METALツ serves bite sized scifi & horror stories on a macabre menu of detestable delights. Then we'll reach into the dark parts of our collective unconscious for dessert. =^._.^= ∫ Up every Friday for your abhorrent amusement.

I have been posting on Webtoon and just started on Tapas, so I'd be happy to do a little sub4sub action. I just subbed to WhiteNoise. Good luck!!

Looking for a mature comic with immature jokes?
ha! you've come to the right place.

I'm all for mature works with a focus on the dark side! Give me all the blood, gore, and erotic/sexy scenes! :joy:

Right now, my manga, A Troll's Hunger,2 is going to have a lot to unfold for mature scenes. First few pages are innocent that I uploaded on my Patreon but it will get darker for sure. There is going to be some gore, violence, sexy scenes, BDSM elements, kidnapping, and well aggressive trolls and other monsters.

All my novels/webtoons/manga are typically dark with a mix of romance and horror or at least dark. Right now my darkest work written would have to be The Siren's Mistress. You definitely get the appeal from the book cover alone.

A side story for my main comic TMBD.

Main comic is targeted for a teenage audience, but Break Umbrella will serve as an origin story for one of TMBD's most troubled characters.

As of now it is still in its "prologue" and may not seem as "adult themed" for Mature theme stories, but because of several moments that will happen later when the actual story starts, I preferred to keep the whole story as Mature.
