Most interesting comments or statements you've heard about your story?

My editor says that Kattar Moon ("Damsel in the Red Dress.") Is his spirit animal. My father said he was like "What? That's where it ends?!!!" when the chapter 'Dorado' cut off right before the leads got to have their first kiss lol.

I've also been told my writing showed a really strong grasp on trauma, which could be taken in a number of ways, but I suppose it's a good thing I write it well? Also I've several times been told my writing is too flowery or poem-like but honestly to me that feels like a compliment. It's like being told you're too pretty lol.

I haven't posted that much and it hasn't gotten that much notoriety so the most interesting comment was that Grey eyes aren't actually that weird, because I had a fanfic where someone comments on Ruby Rose's silver eyes.

For context, my story is an isekai/reverse isekai.

I cried happily over this one, because so many critiques were "MC too passive." She's not a murderhobo by any means, and she's got major guilt from something she did in the past.

"The main character, Rae, is also interesting. Writing a compelling, but passive, MC is a challenge. Rae when introduced as purely reactive, often deferring to those around her. However, we are given insight into her mind, and how overwhelming being thrust into a fantasy world is. This grounds her character, making a relatable MC, which gives a nice contrast to the other characters who dive in head first and push the plot forward. Her arc does appear to be set up to change this, but it looks like this is a learning process, not something addressed in the second chapter in.

MAG ISA has gotten comments along the lines of "this is so unique"... Im not sure though. I don't consume much fiction nowadays.

AngHell Dela Blackpill so far has gotten comments about how they like the villainess (Akala) better than the protagonist (Claudita). Oh well... bad girls and boys get more love

"This is such a strange comic. Looking at Baul makes me cringe. The premise is understandable but a very odd take on the succubus genre. The language and the interactions are spot-on for what I'd imagine would happen between characters like these if they existed. The world lore, as strange as it is, makes sense. That line about a threesome with Mom was a great touch. I'm a little bit scared at myself that I'm actually interested in where this story goes...."

For Apparent Secrets, lots of comments come in to support the roommates (thank you! ), and lots of hate for the villains/antagonists. I've had a few requests for the roommates to get a huge house together. Some comments are spicy or spoiler-y, and I appreciate anyone willing to take the time to leave feedback on each chapter.

In first chapter 90% of the comments are like:" Is that dude Evil? he looks evil. I think this whole operation is a little evil. Lol the future of amazon be like:" Which is roughly the intended response. Whenever I get feedback from friends who read the comic Qamar is usually the favorite which makes sense because they usually get the best of my writing (but also I think their general demeanor appeals to people).

I did a bit of a horror mini-chapter in redwaters which was uploaded around christmas in which 2 guys get their necks snapped. One of which happened on actual chrismas, to which FS Arabolez said "It was an Awesome christmas gift!!".

I get plenty of comments on the weird swears and expressions Rahat uses, saying "the future is so wacky lol" ...when it's just stuff that I say. I'm just a silly wacky guy ig.

Honestly can't think of them off the top of my head, and I can't bring myself to find them, I've gotten so many interesting comments over the years. A lot of really nice ones that would make you feel shy, good guesses about where the story is going, guesstimations on why certain characters are the way they are based on what they've talked about and flashbacks.

Some of the more interesting ones came from a discussion I got on my comic a few years ago on the Webcomics Garden server, I regret signing up for it so soon since you can only do it so many times. Another cool one was Comic Tea Party, a discontinued group that picked comics to talk about as a sort of review/open discussion. Unfortunately I can no longer access the archive to retrieve my entry.

Just people telling me stories that relate to the book from their own lives. I once wrote a scene where clearly the characters were in the Stonewall in NYC in the 1960's (a historic gay bar where riots caused the modern queer rights movement). The characters were introducing their new friend to the other drag queens there to initiate him into the circle of friends, and the friend was under age. An old gay commented on this, telling an engaging story of his own time at Stonewall during that time period. I read his story open mouthed. He said what was in the book was so accurate. It reminded him if old times and he was nostalgic. He was like, "ah, under age queens! There were always under age queens!" The character was based on homeless youths who did frequent the Stonewall due to its proximity to a park where they could relatively safely sleep at night. There were indeed many under age people in there. His story delighted me. Best comment I ever received in the 15 years that my work has been online. This was for my book Audrey Hepburn's Pearls, about drag queen and transgender culture in the 1960's and 1990's in NYC.
