I was wondering who else has stories based around music. Maybe you have a character that plays an instrument or maybe you have a songs that is ment to go with your characters.

My story is largely based off of the musical world, using instruments as weapons, conductors redirecting attacks.

Would love to see other musical stories on here and if you want to try reading a musical comic check out Ragtime!

So my story does not revolve around music, and I apologize if this doesn't truly coincide with the purpose of this post. However, within the Lore of Descendants of Ether, there are many music inspired elements that I'd love to share some excerpts from:

"Hailing from the lofty ranges of Aestriar, the Audelians are an enigmatic and reclusive people who spend their entire lives engrossed in the melodies of their ancestors. Their entire culture is made up of various songs, hymns, and chants that power their machinery, heal their wounded, and bolster their strengths, all for the purpose of furthering their research into musical magics. Audelian appearances are non-static and change not only from person to person, but can also be altered by the amount of sound in a room, especially if there’s music playing."

"Decibelians are a wind-born race that is born without eyes. Instead, they use echolocation and vibrations in the air and ground to sense everything from direction to enemy movements. Decibelian hearing is so finely tuned that they can accurately perceive color in their mind's eye. Decibelians often have incredibly long hair, ranging from the brightest whites to the darkest blacks. Their hair is one of the millions of sensors used to pick up the vibrations around them."

"The infamous “Symphatiis De Noctum”, performed by the Twilight Sonata on their 1st anniversary, moved many members of the audience to tears. The piece was performed just loud enough that the audience couldn’t hear the breakdown of the negotiations taking place directly underneath the concert yard. Nor could they hear the screams as nine members of the Thieves’ Guild were pinned up against the walls by the arrows of the Sonata’s Virtuosos. What the audience thought was a part of the performance, a mere trick of the eye, turned out to be a public execution of one of the Thieves’ Guild’s top officers. With this act, the Twilight Sonata started, not only an impressively long-running feud between the Thieves Guild and themselves but the first of several Guild Wars that would take place from then up until the Great Cataclysm. Hope denies the event ever happening, whereas Sylas the IVth spent a majority of his time in office tracking down those who killed his Guildmates and his wife. Ever since that day, the Twilight Sonata and its Virtuoso’s have become incredibly more menacing, as blood runs thick through their melodies."
