My review book got reported?

Apparently it is against the rules to have a review book on Tapas. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm honestly pretty peeved. I can't find a way it violates guidelines--it's reviews, I'm not advertising anything.

From my experience it seems like you only need one person to report a post in order to have it hidden for review which is a good thing for actual harmful or rule-breaking posts but it's also easy to abuse. I could be totally wrong though! Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

There are lots of other review series on the site, so maybe it was a vindictive reviewee who reported it?

Curiously, a couple of books they’ve lowballed in the review book are super-performers and one made staff picks... different strokes.

It’s not a theory, but an observation. A poor review in their book didn’t correlate to the lack of success on Tapas.

In the guidelines it says that uploads must be: "installments of a serialized story, standalone, one-shot comics or novels."

A review book would technically class as none of those things. But I can only imagine it would be reported if you posted a particularly harsh review and someone reported that to Tapas though. As SleepingPoppy said, have you checked your wall for a PM from the team about it?

These count as standalone. Nothing in the rules says they must be fiction.

And yes, the review book is my thoughts on the books in question. They should be taken with a huge grain of salt as they're opinions and are obviously going to be influenced by whether or not the work in question appealed to me personally. I'd be being dishonest otherwise.

I don't see where any of them are superperformers though. Are you confusing me with someone else?

There's a possibility your reviews were considered harsh to the point they weren't even reviews but just biased opinions that didn't help the author at all.

So Tapas trying to protect their community, reported your book.

I do agree they were harsh at times, but they were helpful in a way, (Also Tapas doesn't report books, users report it)

Her reviews sounded so biased and not helpful. I cannot imagine the pain the writer has gone through.

unfortunately we can't provide much insight regarding flags or bans on the forums. If a series is taken down or hidden, the creator will notify the creator directly and work with them to resolve the situation.

The series in question seems to still be available.
