I'd been seeing it everywhere on tumblr. I was sort of curious but then I looked at the guys and they all looked boring. xD

The only "otome" games I earnestly liked and completed were DMMD (this was a stretch since there are so few in-game choices to make) and Coming Out on Top (this was a blast, my favorite).

707 is my favorite, but I liked him most when I wasn't playing his route tbh. I hope we'll have a V route or a ????? route, since I want to know everyone better haha.

OH, and I heard a LOT of people saying good things about Hatoful Boyfriend, I still have to play it myself sometime though.

I couldn't stand Jumin. Initially I enjoyed the fact that he wasn't anywhere near as cool as he pretended to be, but I didn't enjoy how he behaved in his route. Jaehee's route was my favourite in terms of how much I liked the character, and 707's route was my favourite plot-wise, because it's where most of the game's plot actually happened.

I love otome games, as well as BL games. I'm a little picky, because I don't like routes that romanticise abuse, and there are a lot of those around (especially on the BL side of things). I enjoy a lot of western-made visual novels as well, like Hustle Cat.

While I'm definitely biased, Hatoful Boyfriend is really good, and has a lot more depth than you expect from the premise. The characters are also just as loveable as any character from a more traditional otome game.

I LOVE Mystic Messenger and other otome games. I played a little bit of Amnesia: Memories and some free ones like: Lost Alice, Shall We Date: Blood and Roses, Vampire Boyfriend, Oz+, and a few others that my mind's blanking on...

I don't really have time for console or PC games just because of my job, so otome games I can play on my phone for a few minutes at a time help satisfy the itch to play games.

As for Mystic Messenger I'm totally invested in the story. I wanna know what the hell is going on lolol I haven't unlocked the deeper story yet, I've only done 2 storylines: Zen and Yoosung, but I'm really loving Seven. His whole character reminds me so much of my husband and makes me love Seven more, such a troll heehee! Though Zen is such a charmer! I was blushing so much with him LMFAO! XD

I really wanna play some console otome games like Dance with Devils and Hiiro no Kakera but from what I understand they're not translated into English either subbed or dubbed so...sadness : (

Hakuouki is also on my list, it's made by Idea Factory, the same people who made Amnesia: Memories which was so damn good! Both the game and the anime. So I need to pay for that when I can XD

AH, I still haven't played this but like, EVERYONE I know has and they just gush about it. I need to just get it. The fanart alone has made me like, fall in love with half the characters, hah^^ Games like this, though, really end up making you think of a million different scenarios for your own version of it and I end up making little notes thanks to ideas I get while I play. It's weird but maybe because of the visual novel setup, it just translates to comics so well I think.

Other otome games I've played, mainly for the Vita. My first was Amnesia (and Amnesia Later/Memories/World) which is really fun and sweet (and angsty oh my god) and has a bit of a mystery element to it (you try to figure out why the heroine is suffering from repeats of amnesia while a fairy, Orion, is trapped in your conscious!). Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly is a freaking INSANELY good otome with heavy mystery/drama and the best story ever in an otome for me that I won't even begin to mention because it just... it's brilliant, I was floored by it (Japanese language only right now).

And most recently Collar X Malice. It'll be released in English sometime this year. It's a crime/mystery otome and IT IS GORGEOUS and really, really cool. The heroine is a police officer in Shinjuku who partners with each of the candidates and tries to solve cases of the X-Day murder cult. I highly recommend you to check it out, each of the guy's trope-y themes poke fun at themselves and... they're just quirky and hilarious~

KAKKDKDK same i started playing at the start of the year and i got hooked but i had to play yoosungs route first because its the reccomended play order but ARGHHH i hate yoosung he is so annoying and not even hot -_- im playing zen now and he is at least hot but i just want to get thru zen n jaehee to play JUMIN <3 can you rec me some games that has more humor? i think mysme is so good cuz it is quite funny HAHA i need more fake love because i go to a girls' school so i have no love in my life ahhhh

Yes, that is me too!! It doesn't have to be like, totally 100% immersive to be enjoyable (I think Mystic Messenger makes jokes like this!). Collar x Malice is full of silly moments between the guys and mentions of otome games/shoujo stuff, I LOVE IT. Oh oh, I'm huge on the intimidating guy that's actually a hiding a humongous soft spot and cares for everybody else a lot. YES. AND AH A RICH GUY! I'm dying~ They are fun, they are veeeerry fun~

I love, love, looooved 707s route! (though my favorite character will always be Unknown/Saeren). My sleep schedule was already ruined by the time I started the game, so I was able to survive the midnight and early morning calls. Barely spent any hourglasses~

But then school got in the way, so I couldn't do the Christmas event -3-" Or finish Jaehee's route

I can't quite afford a whole lot of Otome Games, but the "Shall We Date" series on the app store is fun (if not a little tedious).
Some fun PC one's (that you can get on steam) would be Amnesia: Memories, Hustle Cat, and Hatoful Boyfriend o3o

I'm sorry! I assumed from your post that you had already played it. For what it's worth, he's not evil (and a lot of people loved his route, and even one of the bad endings), he's just really, really not to my taste.

Mostly just play the boy idol games for now on mobile phone

Ensemble Stars is a gacha nightmare and hella competitive during events when your best boy is the prize card. (anime announced)

Idolish 7 is pretty quality with the fully animate videos sometimes in the background when you play the rhythm games (anime announced)

Band Yarouze is fairly new but also pretty quality with full animated skill sequences during gameplay. Only problem is that the game response is a bit slow and I've only experienced a million bugs since I started playing and then uninstalled.

Ai*chuu has pretty art, and a similar system to Love Live SIF, but the songs are shiiiiiiit.
