Realistically there are quite a few reasons why aliens would share a lot of traits with humans. At least species who've evolved to a similar level to us. We evolved this way for a reason, after all, we became the apex predators for a reason and any aliens who got to our level would have many similar traits. (Plus we all know the original reason for this was budget, much easier to put people in suits/paint than cgi back in the day).
But creatively that can be boring and actually these days breaks suspension of disbelief more than crazy stuff. (I say with a scifi comic about humanoids haha)
Isaac Arthur actually does a great series on some of the more ridiculous alien tropes and cliches here
For me the big one is The Planet Of The Hats trope. That is every member of an alien species/planet is exactly the same and all hold the same view and are defined by one trait. Fine as a quick summary from an outside pov, especially if its an only briefly mentioned species but if the story is going to do something more on them and doesn't then going into details about how they're different I'm annoyed.
