New to tapas from Wattpad! Any tips?

So after several years of being a pretty popular reviewer on Wattpad, I am kind of done. I posted a very, very long piece on the racist/homophobic things some admins posted on the forums before they closed and Wattpad pulled half my review book, so here I am on Tapas!

Do review books exist here? Are they popular? I have my own series too but I'd love to start reviewing others' works like I used to.

There is someone who advertised their review book a few days ago, called The Stalker. So, at least one is out there.

Like what @sarahdumas001 there are some review books, like The Stalker and another piece which has a section for reviews+promotions known as “Calliop Magazine” There is also a interview book by Commander Marty that aren’t reviews but “promotions” I guess.

If you’re going to do reviews make sure to have promotions too. People LOVE promotions. Especially when it’s their work.

One tip I can give for novels, its to post your multiple episodes on on different days not all at once and often. This is because your novel would only appear in the fresh section once a day. So you want to appear there as much as possible.

Also it's better to have shorter summaries than what wattpad tends to favor. Enough to incite the reader and the the episodes here tend to gain more traction if they are 500-1200 words since it's generally to read on the go and allow for once again frequent updates. Not sure about review novels thou. Never seen them before.

I was on wattpad for 6-7 years. My reviews were very, very popular so I'm kind of sad to see it go but...Their removing my unrelated work for calling out staff actively being racist was kind of the last straw.

I made my new review book on here. Hope to see some of you on it!

Welcome to Tapas! I'm so happy more people are coming in this great platform! You're in for a treat! First of all, I'm very sorry you had to go through that sort of thing on Wattpad of all places. I hope you'd find a wholesome and amazing community here on Tapas! I can vouch for you that this place is very friendly, albeit there are some few bitter people here and there too hahahaha!
