Over on youtube, the people who get targeted the most by demonetization, reports and total channel strikes are LGBT channels (particularily transgender ones) and to some extent horror channels.

It's pretty blatant the rules don't apply equally to everyone.

dyou think the fact that webtoons have said theyve got staff going through content manually - as opposed to youtube's bot situation - is a cause for optimism, or pessimism?

iirc youtube defended its behaviour by saying it was a bot error - if webtoons is gonna do shit by hand, theres no chance for bot error, but lots of chance for personal bias.

Well, they allow mature content before adsense...with proper censorship like Tapas.

I just wish we were given more time to edit our comics before them starting their deleting spree. (Four of my episodes have been deleted already)

I honestly don't know. I think it being done by hand leaves for many to slip under the radar regardless of content. I would hope the staff is not homophobic, but I haven't been with webtoons long, and I don't really know where they lean as far as that. Vincent might have more insight.

Probably they'll also user community members reporting comics, so the views of the populous will also come into play.

@theyaoiarmy Did they say they're deleting comics that don't comply with the adsense rules? I'm pretty sure they warn you and give you time to fix things. But please correct me if you've read otherwise somewhere!

They are deleting by episodes not by entire comics.

I noticed some episodes are missing...and when I checked my dashboard they were deleted.

Uhmmmm yeah so I would say webtoon staff has proven THUS FAR that it is pretty lgbt positive, but the audience a bit less so. Once again, the audience discrimination is especially bad against trans folk, but I think that's a society wide problem right now.

I would hope that Webtoon continues to be lgbt positive, but with google involved I don't know exactly what to feel.

I believe when it comes to alcohol and drugs, you just have to not be promoting the activities. But might be a bit of wait and see how they enforce things. But the adsense does specify "promotion" as @ReroOnyx pointed out.

You would get lines like "Good thing I had my RUBBER KNIFE to scare that guy away" "I can't believe I had to hurt that guy, good thing it was just my RUBBER KNIFE that hit him."

4Kids censorship was so bad when it came to it's anime localization (not just censorship, so Japanese food would be edited into American food) it basically became genuine unedited meme material.
