I update Fridays midday (Eastern Time zone), but at this point I have played around with different days of the week because of bonus chapters and holidays and stuff and it's all pretty similar, I usually get like 10subs an update- 15 if I'm lucky.
I update once a week unless there is a bonus holiday or something. So I feel like I got more subs recently but it's probably because with Xmas and New Years I had 2 more updates than normal this month, that and I did a cross promote with AnotherYou too. And although it helped, I still don't get many.
I understand that my comic is not the best out there, and I have a lot to learn and grow since I am an amateur- especially artistically, but I just see other comics that I feel are comparable to mine in terms of art, genre, etc(or maybe even missing something in the sense that maybe they don't color, or they don't clean up their art or they have shorter or infrequent updates or some other metric that typically results in lower subs) doing significantly better than me, and it is discouraging. I mean according to most people it sounds like I should have atleast 1000subs: I have a romance, long format, fully colored comic with love triangles that updates consistently. I also engage with my readers.
The readers I do have are awesome, and I'm doing this primarily to become better at the craft and I do feel like I am getting better, financially I'm in no trouble, so I don't want to complain. I just can't help but wonder that I'm doing wrong.
