Oddly satisfying drawing moments

Whenever I do shading I tend to start with the outline first and then fill it in, which is always so damn satisfying to me.

Is there anything that you do when drawing that is just so oddly satisfying to you?

After I do my fill layer of shadow, then lower the opacity to make the shadows is very satisfying.

Hands.

Don't know why. Most people hate drawing them. But really getting a hand right is always satisfying to me.

I hate drawing feet. Feet are stupid. 90% of my drawings they're out of frame for a reason lol.

I am very satisfied and thankful that we can change the blending mode of each layer, especially the clipping mask for textures, and much more thankful that we can download nearly any brushes for Photoshop that resemble dust, smoke, clouds, lights, and sunlight.

You. You get it. I love drawing hands. But feet... all I feel is pain. So I also try to cut them out as much as possible lol

I love when I try something different, say lighting, and it actually comes out half decent.

I mean, I’m sure there are tools that automate lighting, and I am equally sure that I don’t know how to use them. Playing with the airbrush brush, experimenting with size and opacity, has gotten me good results (though I say it myself).

Hmmmm. When I didn’t think this color would work for the light but it did.

Hair! I really like drawing hair, especially long hair in some dynamic pose. Always satisfying.

I also like the weirdly specific character details you get to learn while drawing a comic, like how Rikou organizes her bookshelf in rainbow order.

We also shade the same way lol. It's satisfying unless there is a tiny gap in the line somewhere that you can't find at first.

This lil image I found on pintrest was actually pretty useful for me. I did a few studies and the feet I draw look a lot less goofy now that I vaguely know where/what everything is.

Drawing the panel border around the inks is oddly satisfying.
I draw panel borders with a thick custom brush, I don´t use rulers and I draw
them in my special way which make them look broken and handdrawn.
For me this is part of the artwork and it´s really satisfying because it makes
the ink look good and to put a frame around the picture gives me that
feeling of finshing it

Yeah, basically this Just whenever I try something new that I'm not sure would work, but it does, and it clicks with me why it worked. Not a reliably replicable experience though unfortunately XD This is why I don't consider myself someone who likes the act of drawing itself, like many other artists

Though I guess it's also satisfying when I fix the perspective on a sketch I did that looks wonky? It always follows after an ever larger dose of frustration though, so not really worth it :'D
