This is going to be difficult because of the app's current rating.
The rating is the way it is to allow pretty much anyone to post any kind of content. If Tapas lowered its app rating then they would have to enforce content restrictions which would aggravate a large portion of the creator base.
There was a previous discussion about a Tapas Jr. Unfortunately Tapas staff is only so big and building a sister platform would consume way too much of the staff's time from more important tasks.
At the end of the day, since younger readers have little to no access to money, Tapas would end up negatively impacting its bottom line by switching away from its current 18-25 single female demographic towards a younger audience. Since we want the company to stay financially healthy so it can continue to improve and innovate, it does not make much sense to change.
Choosing Little Women was probably more of a matter of licensing and reach. Being written in the 1860s, acquiring the rights to do this was likely quite affordable. The book has sold millions of copies worldwide in 50 different languages, which means there's a huge potential pool of readers for a Tapas adaptation.
The timing also allows it to piggyback on the marketing efforts that PBS is doing for their TV adaptation which rolls out May 13.
