Here's a question for the Tapastic community, since it seems I can't find Webtoon's forums (if one even exists).
So here on Tapas, when I decided to put up my comic here, I was going to put the WHOLE thing up at once. Well...the whole of the first Episode anyway (what is actually made and complete page-wise). And that's what I did.
However, on another site (smack Jeeves), I decided I would instead do a daily upload, all the way up until the same 'episode' is put up. right now it's still only on page 13, when the whole of the Prologue is 40 pages.
Comparing the two, I'm seeing that in a strange sense...the one that is having gradual uploads is getting more attention, while the one here on Tapastic, which has a whole full episode to enjoy is getting barely any attention.
Well now it's time for me to attempt my luck on Webtoon. So here's my question...
Should I do a gradual upload? Or put the whole prologue up like I did here?
Frankly when it comes to a schedule, I already plan to resume uploads in January (so in like...a week or two after my Christmas break), no matter what kind of schedule I end up going with initially. But a part of me is thinking that I made a small oversight when it came to the importance of a 'consistent' upload schedule? Even though in my personal opinion, having a good amount of pages to read when you stumble upon the creation and having just the right amount of content TO binge read is pretty good in getting someone's attention (moreso if the content read sets up the story nicely). I mean...so long as the maker of said creation uploads consistently after you decide to keep tabs on it, all is good right? Or am I missing something else important? I will be having a consistent twice a week upload schedule once I start Chapter 1 so...eventually the 'consistent' uploads will be here on Tapas too. I just wasn't expecting this sort of...deadness before that.
I still wonder what I want to do though...because when it comes to the Prologue of my comic, it takes several pages before I feel the reader will stay invested (the first few pages are set-up lore and the artwork is basic at best). If anyone wants to give it a read and let me know your thoughts, I would most appreciate it. Otherwise, I'm in a pickle about which method to go for on Webtoon.
