Hello! Name's Avery. I'm a writer looking to partner up with an artist to bring a long-form manga/comic project to life. The story is already fully written — characters, arcs, dialogue, worldbuilding, all of it — so what I’m searching for now is someone passionate and reliable who’d like to collaborate on turning it into a full comic. Whether you're experienced or just getting into manga-style work and want to try something long-term, I’d love to hear from you.
The tone of this story walks a tightrope between heavy and heartfelt. It dives into themes like death, trauma, mental illness, and emotional recovery, but it’s not just darkness for the sake of it — there are plenty of slice-of-life moments, jokes, quiet bonding, and all the little bits of warmth that make the heavier moments hit harder. Think Made in Abyss or Berserk for tone intensity, but with the human focus and emotional range of March Comes in Like a Lion or Mob Psycho 100. It’s a story about people trying to live, not just survive.
This is a paid, long-term partnership. I’d like to start with some character sheets, concept art, and a couple of test pages. From there, we’d move into full chapters. I’m not working under any tight deadlines — life happens, and I completely get that — but I do want to keep things moving steadily once we start.
Here’s what I’m looking for in an artist:
A manga/anime-inspired art style (digital preferred)
The ability to portray emotional nuance, action, and character-driven storytelling
Comfort switching between serious and comedic tones
Good communication and a collaborative spirit — I want this to feel like our project, not just mine
No specific software is required as long as you’re able to provide clean, usable digital files. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, feel free to DM me here on Tapas, or contact me at:

Please include samples of your art — especially any comic/manga work if you have it!
Thanks so much for reading, and even if you’re just browsing, I hope your day’s treating you kindly.
