I was thinking of doing this too- as to be the idea that -
people will support you more when they see you with more support.
So if you have little Patreon supporters, the average person will think of you as a 'nobody' and not want to be early, first or taking a risk. Seeing LOTS of people helping says you are worthy of support and it's safe to join them.
Sheep-people stuff.
Reviews, views, likes, etc.....
What I've seen so far is that people do not like (any-term) commitment or MONTHLY BILLS.
Patreon is seen as a new monthly bill by most people.
People have handed me $20 bucks - just to support my work and I have begged them to join my Patreon instead.
They will not. I have even offered to give them THE FIRST $10 BUCKS to cover the first 10 months and they will not budge. Patreon, like YouTube and everything else, does nothing to help you get more supporters.
So, I'm kinda sour and will probably pull Patreon. And Maybe come back further down the road when it really makes sense.
