Phobos Comics is Hiring Artists & Letterers

Hello everyone. My name is Aidan and I am a Full Sail University Film student. I am a lifelong fan of filmmaking, storytelling, and comics, and I am putting those passions together to build an indie comic imprint called Phobos Comics. This is not a school project. It is something I am building on the side because I want to create real published work with a strong and collaborative team.

Right now, we have three writers including myself, one artist, and a few industry professionals who have worked in comics before and are helping guide the development process. I am finishing the lineup for the creative team and I am in need of more artists and at least one letterer.

We are currently looking for:
• Sequential artists (pencils, inks, colors)
• Letterers
• Writers with comic experience or editing experience are welcome as well

Since Phobos Comics is a brand new imprint, we are starting with a sweat equity model until the company reaches its first revenue milestone. I do not like that I have to structure it this way, but it is the most realistic way to build the foundation of a new studio. To make it worthwhile for early collaborators, I am offering portfolio-quality work, long-term placement on the team, and permanent equity once the company hits the milestone.

How pay works once the company generates revenue:
When Phobos Comics reaches the first $10,000 revenue milestone, starting pay activates at the following rates:
• Artists and pencilers: $25 per page
• Writers and script editors: $20 per page
• Colorists: $15 per page
• Letterers: $10 per page

Note: This is just starting pay, meaning it is scheduled to increase when revenue grows further.

Equity for early collaborators:
Everyone who works on the project before the first milestone receives 5 percent non-voting equity in Phobos Comics once the milestone is reached. This equity is permanent and represents a financial interest in the company. It is my way of making sure the people who help build this from the ground up are rewarded later.
