Planned Timeskip?!

As the title says (I guess it's a running gag with me that I point out the titles at this point), have you ever planned a Timeskip in your story at one point, even during the planning of the plot or even on the first draft?! Like, you know at one point you want your character to age a little, of course, as the story needs this time skip to happen for any reason, for example, I did actually planned that between book 3 and Book 4 (The last) there will be a Timeskip, mostly because at that point there will be the need to have Alfredo more mature for what He is going to face (It's true that my Comic barely started, but I actually wrote most of it at this point... only the ending part is missing), all things that I can't tell at the moment since with the actual comic Kame and I are barely at... 5% of the overall plot...
What about you? Did any of you do the same, plan a Timeskip, or, if it already happened, tell if it was planned from the beginning, or added at the last minute? This might sound interesting to know everyone's approach!

PS I couldn't decide if this was more on "Art/comics" or "Writing/Novels", so I put it in the latter because it can work for both the mediums.

I had a 10 year timeskip planned for Errant from the start, or rather, I knew the main story would take place with the characters as adults, but that the prologue would be set ten years beforehand. In the early drafts, the comic started with Rekki as an adult and her past was filled in with flashbacks, but I felt like actually being with her as a teen at that pivotal moment in her life made her more sympathetic and it was more effective for filling things in about the world too.

Any further timeskips will be weeks or months at most, and they'll happen mainly because I want to keep the story tight. As fun as it would be to have it like an episodic series where we see our heroes take on various "demon of the week" encounters, I don't really have that luxury as a webcomic creator making two pages a week, so a lot of that will be alluded to, though it won't even come up for a while yet, so far chapters 1,2 and 3 have all taken place on the same day, and then chapter 4 will pick up the next morning. At some point, there will need to be one or two "and so they spent a few days/weeks doing routine knight stuff fighting demons etc." jumps to avoid relationships and plans progressing hilariously fast. I know roughly where they'll be and roughly how long, but I'm pretty loose with my scripts.

I really like a good timeskip, but of course it only really works in extremely long stories (or stories going from the prologue to the rest like Errant). None of my stories fit the bill yet, though I definitely want to do a big one in some story in the future. They're such a fun storytelling technique.

It desperately needs reworking, but basically I wanted to show the MC growing up with a few wholesome milestones. Lol!

I think the time skip scene from Disney’s UP was well done.

That is something I actually did for Book 1, since it covers all the festivity during the year, there are few months between each chapter, with the Prologue of course being set 6 years early... Otherwise, Book 2 and 3 covers instead the same week, and then there is the 3 years Timeskip for the last Book, with an unspecified Timeskip for the Epilogue when I'll plan that out.
Book 1 is the odd one out of the other three mostly because it serves to introduce characters, their connection to the MC, the world, and some backstory (Although the Lorebook entries do most of the thing in order to not slow down the Dialogue and help allow more actions, especially in the recent chapters that are being drawn), With 2-3-4 being the one true adventure and "Coming of Age" journey of Alfredo.
Fun fact is that... I have planned everything for a total of 6-7 Books, but then I decided to condense many between the first 4 books so to not make this a "8 Years long" story, but rather, hopefully, I think, almost half the length, knowing the pacing because I can't publish more than 8 panels a week, it is for the better that the series doesn't go over the decade of run, altough I would have like a "Monster/Accident" of the week format, but It's better be a story with a beggining and an Ending... maybe even miroring each other.

I'm half a pantser and half a plotter.

That means I tend to do a basic outline for my story - at least how it starts, the main points, and the ending is fully mapped out. (Especially the ending).

I have a general idea on when I should have a time skip - which is after a main event, main traumatizing/emotional event, or a period of peace, or training. Lol.

I dont fully map out when the time skip should occur and half the time I don't plan for it, but if I see that a time skip is necessary, there's no reason why I shouldn't add it if it makes sense.

Honestly, time skipping is a staple of most of my stories. I'll jump forward a few weeks, a few months, a few hours, or even a few years, but always and only at either the beginning or the end of a chapter. And I also build-up to future events that call for a jump in time because the reader doesn't need to see what happened in between, they can assume it, or I've already explained it to a certain degree. To me, time jumps are essential because I like to tell stories that happen over long periods of time.

Time skips are relevant in any story, for me, because it would be boring if the whole story never had any. And for "realistic approach" too since realistically speaking, there's no something worth telling like fairy tale or the like every day. Like Ted Mosby said, if every day is legendary, then there's no true legendary day because it would all be the same.
I have a lot of time skips in my novel. But the major time skip - which is planned from the very beginning but not yet written out - is my MC's 4-5 years of time skip. Then it'll go from that to flashbacks.
