Please, tell me your secrets!(to draw in a tablet)

I have recently gotten my tablet on the mail! It's very small so I guess it's good that it's portable, but I can't draw with it! Okay, I can, but all the lines are rickedy and I realized, I can't draw with a tablet. How do I use it? What do I do?

The lines start out smooth, but end up looking wiggly, I don't know. Messed up lines I guess

Do you ever try another free drawing programs? Fire alpaca (medibang) is free to use. Just try to use different programs and see if it's continued.

Just download medibang pro. Just search in Google and go to their website. I remember there's an option to download on mac.

i'll second @silverraven0's suggestion on using other free programs if you can. i'm curious, since i've not used sumo paint, but does the program have any kind of stabillizer for the brush? it may help with smoothing

I only ever draw with my phone, but medibang have the 'stabilizer' and it's pretty smooth, although sometimes it's lines get crooked if you set it too high. Btw, if you used phone to draw, two programs I recommend is Ibis paint and medibang.

Maybe try to find a free program that has vectors as well, it doesn't have to be a professional program. My friend used one that was very basic in his phone and was able to make vectors that way you would be able to correct the lines after you draw them, or get better stabilization. I will ask him, and it might be compatible with the chromebook.

Make sure to look for stabilization options in your drawing program, it will help your lines from being too shaky. As far as learning how to draw with a tablet, I started out by drawing the sketch on paper, scanning it, and doing line art on the computer. It was the best way to transition, since my sketches would come out much better on paper at the time. Before you even realize it, you'll be able to do start to finish on the tablet, you just have to keep using it.

Also, I don't know what what your reasoning for using free drawing programs is, but I would honestly recommend getting Clip Studio Paint or Paint Tool Sai. CSP tends to go on sale all the time, and the basic version of the program averagely goes down to 25 USD. Using a program that has a lot of users can enable you to find the proper help and tutorials in your journey to learning digital art.

I don't really rely on USA dollars so much and here where I am from they never go on sale because they're US programs. Heck, they even rise in the price

what program are you using? and whats the tablet?

rickety lines can be solved with a stabiliser - in CSP and SAI, that comes built in. afaik in photoshop you need to use a plugin.

using a tablet is a learning curve, but you can pick it up in time. just takes some practice.

I was going to mention the stabiliser tools but those have been talked about already.

Another thing that contributes to how strong the lines are is confidence - once you get used to using the tablet you'll find that it's easier to make quicker and therefore smoother lines. Get your stabilisation sorted and practice, practice practice!

I’ve recently downloaded firealpaca, it’s free and really nice! It also has some small features for comic and animation, so if you are worried about the price it is a good option.
Also medibang is free as well, though I haven’t tried it

Alright, I found that Firealpaca doesn't work for me. At all. I downloaded medibang and I guess I'm good but I still need some practice. I'll upload a drawing soon.
