There's some gaps in my story.

The main character loves his owner. Then one day, the owner who loves his hamster, randomly moves out and forgot his hamster that he loves a lot.

The hamster chases his owner's car, but he can't catch up. And that's when he finds the hamster clubhouse and he meets the other characters in my story.

But I suppose it doesn't make much sense that his owner that loves his hamster, forgot his hamster when moving out.

Does anyone have any suggestions for why the human didn't bring his hamster when he moved out? Right now, its just that even though he loves his hamster a LOT, he's just kinda an idiot and forgot his hamster behind even though he really cares about his hamster a lot.

Maybe the new place they're moving to doesn't allow pets?
(Depending on the tone of the comic) The hamster's asleep but the owner's parents think he's dead and tosses him out into the garden?
The hamster escapes his cage for whatever reason during the move and the owner doesn't notice until it's too late?

Thanks for the ideas. The readers would probably think its weird that the human randomly thinks the hamster is dead when he's asleep one time, though.

Maybe it's a misunderstanding? Rather than forgetting his hamster, the owner is leaving him with his parents or with a friend, but the hamster thinks he's being abandoned and escapes/chases after the owner.

You can also do the classic <<falls out of the cage from a bump in the car>> trope. I also like @joannekwan 's idea of the owner not noticing he's escaped the cage.

Thanks for the suggestions ^^ I forgot to mention that the human owner is a martial artist and he doesn't live with his parents.

Does the hamster gets off of his cage when the owner is not watching?, sometimes an incident can make the hamster get lost, specially if he leaves his owner`s house for a walk or to hang out with other hamsters.

Hmmm what about he left the hamster in someone elses place like, his parents house to take of it? Then the hamster escapes and start his journey trying to find out where his owner is

If both are martial artists that respect each other, the Hamster can have a mission or something, a bond that binds him to the place he is, and he and his owner have this intense goodbye moment in which each of them goes their separate ways..? The whole HONOR schtick.

(Would have to change how he discovers his friends, though)

Dude, what if the owner met someone, a love interest, and is moving in with them, and in the rush of lust (and blinded by love) he totally forgot his old hampster that he loved so much?

maybe the owner is just ... VERY forgetful and chaotic, or has bad eyesight... idk

1 month later

Maybe the trip won't allow a hamster? (The drive is too long, or he can't pay for him to be on the airplane, etc.) Then the hamster escapes and owner thinks, "Oh it's better this way. At least now they are free." Because he was going to have to put him in an animal shelter anyway.

Or maybe the hamster has to escape! Because of the previously stated trip issues, owner has to let someone adopt the hamster, but the hamster hates it. (You could totally pull a Finding Nemo, although I feel like the bond between the two would be enough to make the hamster run away.)
