I have a hard time seeing foul language because me and my family (not even just immediate family) speak vulgar very naturally in the most normal and everyday of conversations. (My manner of speak actually sounds VERY unnatural when I'm taking care NOT to cuss or trying to replace words with other less offensive words. Seriously my mother had the time of her life just laughing at the way I was talking when I had to do volunteer work at a children's summer camp for church. She made fun of me for it for god knows how long.)
I was actually unaware that many words were vulgar (cept obvious ones like 'don't say f**k in school) until I went on the internet and was told OMG WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRY ALL OF A SUDDEN??? WHAT DID I DO WE WERE JUST TALKING AND NOW YOUR CUSSING AT ME. And then promptly need to be told that _____, _____, _____ and _____ also counts as 'that's actually a swear and you don't say that in public' language...
Like... I don't know I even worked jobs where I would talk the way I do and never had an issue with even saying f**k here and there (even to my boss or supervisors), and I worked at a craft store with a bunch of old ladies. I guess I duno, just the way I say it when speaking just flows naturally I guess? It's NEVER been an issue until internet chats or issues with language (that I had actually no idea was an issue) in comic pages.
I'm still having a really hard time believing that the word 'hell' is a NSFW word. Just.. there's no ****ing way. NSFW to me mean 'You're gunna get your ass fired for looking at that dirty word here" Who the hell is gonna get fired for 'hell'? I mean they say it in PG movies for god's sake. I mean if you can handle Harry Potter characters saying 'bloody hell' and not turn off the movie you can handle someone saying 'hell' in a conversation without feeling the sudden urge to fire them. You can't tell me that 'bloody hell' is less offensive than 'hell'
Honestly the NSFW tag is actually kind of funny, cause I register it very literally, as in 'don't read this comic at work or you're gonna get fired' To which I automatically think 'the reason you're getting your ass fired is probably because you're reading the comic at work when you should be working, not because your boss was paying attention to the actual dialog thoroughly enough to go "That language in that comic you are reading is not appropriate for this place of work. We have small children attending this store what if one of those children broke into the break room and was tall enough to look over your shoulder and read your phone? I don't need to deal with the backlash from the parents. Muhum, I'm sorry sir but I'm going to have to fire you."
