They do. Tapas came out with the binge section for that very purpose. One of the optionals to become listed there is for your series to be complete.
Overall, I don't think reads should factor into anything here. It's about accountability, yes? As someone who works at a marketing firm, we try to look at conversions. Like with email marketing. You might have a killer subject line that makes your target audience open the email, but not a good enough body to make them click on the call-to-action that leads to your website, for example. Subs are more tangible. It implies that your story is worth that extra click, that extra notification with every update. It's a different matter, if you're factoring in only the reader counts from the people subscribed to you. Still, not a great metric. Not as tangible as comments/likes.
A few of my readers reached out to me once. They never commented or liked my chapters, but they DMd me for a personal Q/A and I directed them to my discord. I realized that they're all up-to-date, but mostly function as silent readers. I mentioned that it would help if they could just quickly smash that like button whenever they felt a chapter deserved it, and they went and did it. Readers don't realize the mechanics it takes push us into the popular section, or trending. But maybe just leave a note in the Author Box after every chapter, to remind your silent readers to be just a little more vocal. I think that might go a long way towards understanding the viability of your writing, your story.
Just a perspective here! ^_^
