I just thought it'd be kind of cool to get a feel for how popular different programs are. It's multiple choice because I know some people use multiple programs.

  • Clip Studio Paint
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Paint Tool SAI
  • FireAlpaca / Medibang
  • Krita
  • Corel Painter
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Procreate
  • GIMP
  • ArtRage
  • Other

I'm poor so I can only use free programs. I use Medibang for sketching and lineart and GIMP for color. I do it this way because GIMP has good features for color adjustment, better gradient tools, and filters, but it has pretty shit tablet support. I have to use workarounds just to keep my pen from lagging and even then the pressure sensitivity doesn't always work. I also haven't figured out how to make custom brushes for Medibang yet, though I've found a few helpful ones in the cloud.

Digital art for me is a lot of going back and forth between the two.

For drawing and panel layout, I'm still using a copy of Manga Studio 4 Debut that I found second hand five years ago. For coloring, I've got an older version of PS from a previous job. I've got Krita as well, but I haven't forced myself to use it much since it was still pretty slow when I last tried it.

Clip Studio Paint for me! Before that it was SAI, but I managed to snag clip studio for cheap during a sale a few years ago and haven't looked back.

Paint.NET...? o/
It's like a souped-up MS Paint, which is good for me 'cause I prefer simplicity. Although I'm sure it can do a lot of cool stuff, too...if I were interested in doing anything cool, I guess I'd find out. ^^;

I was hoping that I will be using CSP but nope..:") CSP tends to crash and it crashes my OS(windows 10).

So yeah I am going back using SAI.

Who else's use Adobe Illustrator? Let me see your works :eyes:

I use Clip Studio for drawing and Photoshop for text/speech bubbles

Clip Studio Paint was included when I bought my tablet, so I just started using that. And since I am quiet happy with it, I see no need to change it up ^^ Well, the lettering kinda sucks with it, so I use GIMP for that.

CSP for everything then import to Photoshop for doing the text, cropping, and save for web.

I've used Adobe Photoshop Elements 4, Adobe Photoshop Elements 14, and Adobe Illustrator 18.

I mostly sketch everything on paper and then finish it up digitally on clip studio paint

I use Procreate for all my art work and text but I have to import my panels into photoshop to do any cropping (especially of large files) since procreate doesn't currently have this feature

I listed "Other" as one of my options, because I'm doing the linework traditionally

Otherwise, Photoshop: Coloring, text, speech bubbles

Illustrator: Not too much, but used it to help make my title logo.
