"Did you watch the man who lived in this room?" The speech was alien in every way from the other languages he knew from the way his mouth couldn't properly produce a shape to match the words to how his voice originated from a place where a voice ought not to arise.
"Yes."

This is from an experimental screenplay (which I'm not currently publishing on Tapas)

"Why are you dancing in my uncle's basement?"
"The best questions are those that remain unanswered."

Quite evidently, it's a comedy.

It's a screenplay, the feelings are conveyed in the direction notes, which I didn't include in the excerpt.

Colour drained from Castiel’s face.
“Send someone after me? Like a hitman?”
“What? No! He wouldn’t do that. He’d send a detective at most, but he knows I’d be angry about that, so I don’t think he’d do it either.”

(from a chapter that hasn't been uploaded yet)

He looked out that large window in the living room, biting his lip, "How much would you give me?"

Another answer, echoed sweetly in his ears, a response in her voice, leaving pleasurable shivers down his spine, "Everything."

Summary

“So... so then you intended just to be with me all along.” Iola looked deep into Dacia’s brown eyes. “The six gold coins for the mission was just a ruse... to get close to me.”

“Well, I did want to help you on your mission.” Dacia sat up and scratched her exposed navel. “I just didn’t want to scare you off by offering my mercenary services for free.”

“I… can’t.” Her body shook, the words coming out as a strangled cry.

“Hey.” Matt’s breath came out in a raspy sigh. A trembling finger touched her hand, bringing her attention to his face. “Think of it this way. I have nothing more to live for.”

"I'm not a fucking murderer! I'm not part of... I'm not in charge of a family of murderers! I'm not a MONSTER like you!"

"...A monster..." She stood up, her gaze downward, her voice small with a slight stutter, "I'm offering you the world, and that's how you really see me? A monster?"

He stumbled, the color draining from his face despite the heat, "Sheriff! DO YOUR JOB!"

The Sheriff sighed, pulling out his gun while the posse was still reeling from the sniper shot, "You got it, Mayor."

She cringed, hearing the pounding of her eardrums, "To settle this peacefully over a small luncheon. Instead, I waste time with a fucking phone call."

"I'm sure you look lovely, Senora, but our mind is made up. Our trade routes, along with our goods, must stay in the family."

“Wow, the east coast. What brings you to Oregon?”

Natalie faced Vivian, “If you had a chance to live in the mountains, would you want to stay in New Jersey? Nothing but crazy people and corporate jerks there.”

Chuckling, she brushed some imaginary dust from his shoulder. “I’m curious. What kind of people do you normally have on the ferry?”

His lips curled up ever so slightly as he replied, “People like you, in fact. Those with deadly charm.”

The sin of Pride hissed through his teeth, stomping away from the drone and looking down at Ira, incredulously, "He can't be a part of this family-"

"Can't?" Ira must have misheard him, "Excuse you?"
