Well, here it is...
It was January, 2014.With ‘01:08’ displaying on the digital watch of a person’s hand on the steering wheel of a car going on with the speed of 100 kmph as the speedometer displays, the 26- year old man sitting beside the driver raised bottle of vodka with his left hand and shouted, “CHEERS! At last, we have beaten that son of a b**ch, that f***ing bastard Simon!”
Another friend of his, seated at the back, also raised his bottle and shouted “YO-HOO! Success at last! You’re right, Lucifer, IT’S TIME FOR A PARTY!”
“Hey, both of you don’t drink too much, ‘kay?” The man at the driving seat said.
“C’mon man! We’re gonna drink as much as we want to! We have beaten the person who used to bully us at college! We’ll drink AS MUCH AS WE WISH, right, Jason?” the man beside him, Lucifer, told the driving man.
“Yup, y’are absolutely correct!” Jason said.
“What should I do of these boys?” The driving man thought, shaking his head.
Keeping an arm around his neck, Lucifer said, “Don’t worry, bruv. Being a year smaller than us don’t make you a child here, ‘kay?”
“Yes, I understand,” the man, now a kinda emotional, told Lucifer as he looked into his eyes.
Suddenly, the car made a huge sound like it bumped on someone really hard. “Woops!” the man said as he got a better grip of the steering wheel. He applied the brake really hard as he opened the car’s window to see whom the car had crushed down. Taking his head outside the window, he saw a beggar lying on road with his body crushed down badly by the car’s wheels. “Oh sh*t! What the f*** have I done!” he said.
With his head also out, Jason said, “C’mon man, what’re ya waiting for? Let’s run away! C’mon, DRIVE!”
“A-A-Are y-you s-s-sure that it’s a-all right?” the man murmured.
“HELL YEAH!” Jason said as he started the car and drove away.
“Think like nothing happened, like you did nothing, ‘kay?” Lucifer consoled him with his eyes opened in shock.
“I don’t think that he saw me” a woman, with her hands inside her brown pair of pants which she wore as she stood just some steps away from the incident, told herself. “I think that’s what Carlos must be thinking.”
After dropping his friends home, the man opened the car’s door, got out and locked the car. Waving the car keys on his right hand’s first finger, he opened the door and went inside the mini garden of ground floor. Taking some steps further, he took the stairs on the right of the end of the path. Reaching the first floor, he opened the door on his left and went inside. The first was a small drawing room, connected with a bed room on the right and a small kitchen just beside the drawing room. There was also a toilet and store room connected with the bed room on the left.
Just after entering the room he found his fiancée, Ruby, sitting on a sofa with her arms crossed and some big luggage bags beside her. “What happened, sweetheart?”
At this, she stood up and said, “Sorry, but now I ain’t your sweetheart or fiancée. Keep your engagement ring here and our engagement is now over!”
Shocked to hear this, he murmured, “W-W-What h-happened, b-baby? What’s t-the p-problem?”
“Problem? My PROBLEM IS ASKING ME PROBLEM, huh? So ironic!” she scolded.
“W-w-What, me?” he asked shockingly.
“YES, YOU! You know what, I am NOT willingly to marry someone who comes late at half past one, drinks all night, and use such an abusive language! And, our neighbours also told me that you are jobless and you lied that you work in a big company! You are just a jobless loser who is just living on compensation money because of your parents!” At this, she turned her head a kinda down as she thought, “Oh, no. I should not have said that.” So, she raised her head and said, “S-Sorry” and took her luggage and left off.
The next day, he woke up and found out he’d slept on sofa last night. Lying on the sofa, he saw his left fist, opened it and saw Ruby’s engagement ring. After sitting on it, he thought, “Oh, man. The last night was a truly, truly long one.” Seeing the ring again, he got up, his face showing his sadness. Suddenly, he closed the fist tightly, closed his eyes and said “I-I’m gonna...” He opened his eyes enthusiastically and shouted “I’M GONNA CHANGE MYSELF!”
_Till ten o’clock, he’d bathed, brushed, eaten his breakfast and was searching for some of his documents kept at the lowermost shelf of the almirah. He was sitting on the floor as he found a document with the title, ‘Degrees and Resumes’ and said happily “At last, I got ya! I knew you would be here!” Suddenly, he heard the doorbell as someone shouted “Hello! Is anyone here?” He went to open the door as he found some policemen standing on his doorsteps. “Hello, sir. Is that car yours?” the policeman said as he pointed towards his car.
