In future, it's probably a good idea to use selection and masking so that your gradient doesn't bleed into your drawing! Basically, select the area inside of the panel that's around your line art, and use that as a mask. Your gradient will stop where the lines begin.

Thanks for the advice, but that was pretty much on purpose since I thought it was too boring to have the characters solidly standing out in white xD. I still got lots to learn on shading, haha.

I actually think having the characters standing out looks better - it lets them pop out from the background. Having the characters shrouded by the gradient kind of blends them in and gives a more "boring" feel.
Play around with it, though, and decide for yourself.

Yes! The different line weights are really improving clarity; I think you can go even bolder with the lines, but that's just my feeling.
