Okay, so this one time on LinkedIn, somebody came into a community for professional and aspiring-professional comic artists, and asked what kind of quality they could expect for $3 per page. I drew this:

This is a truly garish comic from when I was about seventeen and was obsessed with RPGWorld and Megatokyo and wanted to make webcomics, but didn't yet own a graphics tablet. It's hideous and I hate it. I hate the awful pencil crayon colouring, I hate that lurid digitally coloured bright orange brick wall in the background, I hate the text being in goddamn Papyrus, I haaaaate iiiiiit.

If by 'worst' you mean 'oldest', then this is probably the best (worst?) of both worlds. I think I did this in high school, more than 20 years ago.

My worst drawings are my oldest drawings, but I guess it would be unfair to my past self as she was still learning

At first I kinda liked it, I was happy with the rain effect, but the drawing itself is SO BORING. There's something wrong with his anatomy, I don't like colours, and I was not able to get the mood/vibe I was going for.

i wont get on about phrasing but some of my really old stuff was rough

i'd probably stick like all my first first episodes of Foxtales here if not for file limits but from episode one up to episode fifteen those are like "objectively" lowest quality

but for other art i guess my pre tapas notebook drawing would probably qualify if not more recent "bad day" sketches

like this one was half traced from a panel or cover from a volume of the full moon o sagashite manga (mainly the face iirc), i think it was meant to be an oc but i probably ditched it when i went from being super into manga to my sonic fixation

oh and then i actually piled up a bunch of old sonic sketches and anime sketches from middle/high school and posted em

which i can't be too mean and call them bad coz if not for that intermittent phase of art i don't think i'd have managed to work my way to my current art style

i'll definitely throw some of my extra early 'episodes' of Pawprints under the bus coz the first few bounced between referenced stuff or draw the squad type memes but when it comes to stuff i drew completely on my own especially "dreamers" and beyond those i'm still really pretty proud of even if it's like...early phases of my own art (the new player pallete thing doesn't count tho coz i just retraced my old stuff with minimal improvements imo) coz again it's what eventually lead me to where i'm at now with art and if anything i miss all the experimenting and messing around i did back then

i will say what you've got isn't all bad you're just in those learning phases so as you stumble through the process things will slowly become easier and easier it's just giving yourself to to learn and grow

also i've gotta give respect to folks who keep or can easily find early childhood or teen year drawings coz i know i've still got some of my old notebooks but i have no clue where half of em are at or the spiders have claimed them

To be honest, I have no idea probably around 25 years ago? Sailor Moon was in TV in my country in 1995-1997, so I'd assume it's from somewhere around 1997, as I recall watching it at my grandma's house and the drawing was done on one of the books there in later years I usually used normal paper and not books

I got lucky with timing of this thread, because I wanted to do redraws of my very old drawings to see them in my current style, and just last week scanned most of them LOTS of egdy drawings from my early teens hahaha

I think the oldest stuff i've got around probably only dates back to around middle school since i vaguely remember tearing up a bunch notebooks from before then but now i'm tempted to go back and find what i do have

Oh my god. I had to look up my old deviantart account. This was when I wanted to transition away from the anime art style (I think). Tried to be more western and "realistic" in 2014/13

Could it be drawings or ideas in hindsight were terrible ideas?

One was for a Jack and Pujita comic where Pujita spies on Jack with binoculars while he’s naked. It would’ve actually shown his bum and his private parts too. And then later in the comic he does the same thing with Pujita to get back at her or something and it shows her rear end. I intended to censor it in the digital phase later but man. Like yeah they’re married and stuff but I hated the idea it was kind of just stupid.

Jack: WHYYYY??!

Another Jack and Pujita episode or a short story was when Pujita’s mum comes to visit for the week while Pujita’s dad is away in India and there was a legit scene where Jack and Pujita were about to have s£* and Pujita’s mum actually comes in and says “Dear you forgot something.” And it’s a box of freaking condoms. In hindsight this is pretty embarrassing for both the couple but it’s a little too much adult. As much as I love the concept of relatives coming over and driving the main characters crazy this is probably not the best way to write it. Mainly my worst ideas have to do with adult situations that aren’t even well done. Again Jack and Pujita are married but it’s not for the world to see it’s only between them. Which makes me uncomfortable with these type of scenes in the first place. It’s only between the two of them and only the two of them. In hindsight it was probably not the best idea.

Those are some terrible ideas for you. But if you’re looking for the worst possible drawings I gotta go find an old sketchbook.
