Wait, I thought it was against the rules of the forum to post (promo) your commissions info, but I could be wrong. Well that's no the point of what I'm going to ask, I'm really curious, but how are you guys doing with commissions?, do you often get customers, or you usually have to wait a lot between one commission and another?

And as for the questions: I have highs and lows with commissions. I actually had my best year ever with them in 2020. And this year so far I've gotten a steady load. But usually, I will have down periods where I don't have any, so I will instead use that time to draw personal things. Then seemingly 3 separate commissions will come at me within 2 weeks lol

whoops I did not read the rules fully-

I'm not one who advertise commissions a lot, and really only post about it occasionally. I think so far all my commissions have been friends/mutuals.

I'm someone who have few commissioners, as stated above, but also because I have a small audience that's hard to engage with, and also keep prices to what I think it's fair for my time and skills.

Unfortunately there's no one method to get certain clients. I think it's a factors of engagement of audience, prices, skills, what you're offering, and advertising.

Not doing well ;w; It's once every few months, with a lot of wait. I need to get more examples on anime style, more furry, stronger examples, but it's hard to juggle all that with comic(which is very cartoony) and IRL stuff.

I would say that I do ok with commissions. I don't advertise them and generally go looking for jobs on forums or discord job channels when I need a little income boost.

February 2021 was one of my busiest months - working on maybe 5 paid works total? Their price ranged from $30 scuff work to $380 for stream models.

This month I'm back to 2 commissions since after February I decided to lock it at 2 per month. I've finished one, and the second one is still in progress... both are reference sheets ^^;; so $200 each.

If I'm not looking for job boards, I usually get commission requests from acquaintances or friends. The key is to have a wide range of friends, including ones who would value your art skills.
