I just got up my first cover for my comic, Don't Be A Hero. It's also been my first real digital colouring job (apart from my thumbnail image) since I got my cintiq tablet. I couldn't believe how many hours this thing took me to make. I've never been a painter, so I had to learn to use oil paints for the background from scratch, as well as other brushes for bumpy effects on the brick and pavement (well, you'd be able to make out the details on the full-sized image). The hardest part though, was when I drew out my cover on my day off, only to realize the next day that I drew it on too low of a resolution setting, and I had to scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. I've got a new appreciation for the effort that goes into covers now. I'm actually going to show my new and old cover to show the difference from the point I had to ditch the first until when I completed the new one:
