I recently looked at all the tapas originals and fan faves of 2020, and noticed a strange trend. It's all romance. I saw the first sentence of the description of this thread, and I asked myself, "Why is this so true?" My story is quite a slow grower (And I wonder why after the first 20 pages) and no one really gives me advice on how to improve and draw in new viewers, so all constructive criticism is appreciated

OF BONES AND BLOOMS {novel}

I'm currently under the 'DRAMA' tag, but I am thinking of switching to Fantasy.

Mine is a low-fantasy/magic. Magic is rare and concealed, and more of the subplot than the driving force.

The main character, Ophelia, has druid-powers (plant magic) and uses it to decompose bodies and turns them into mushrooms/flowers to hide scandals for the Mafia, and Rich and Powerful of her city.

It's a slow-burn, morally-grey, magic, political intrigue, gothic romance, mystery.

My fantasy novel is The Aphuanian Tales, a collection of stories of varying sizes about the continent of Aphing as seen through the eyes of its citizens. You'll find a lot of parody, social commentary, and all around ridiculousness blended with very real challenges for the characters, and the magic is based heavily on my own research into the occult. My fantasy comic is Menmar, which is loosely based on One Thousand and One Nights, mixing a bit of Arabic, Persian and Mesopotamic settings and mythos with an Assassin's Creed vibe to it. I do hope it's to your liking!
