#Primetime now Ad Revenue

I would like to know if I am eligible for the #Primetime Ad Revenue program. I was part of the program in 2013, but was removed for some reason last year. I contacted Tapastic, but nobody ever responded. There are a few new webomic projects that I want to post to Tapastic and the #Primetime Ad Revenue program would be very helpful. Thanks!

Hi @UzukiCheverie Current based on CPM or how many ads are shown. We do not count click-thrus. "You might also like" is not an ad.

In the image featured above, you'll notice that there are two ads, these appear at the end of each episode. If you're not seeing them then that probably means you have ad block turned on. After someone finishes reading an episode, we serve them two ads. If they see the ads, then it counts. If they have ad block on, then it won't register as being served.

You should have been sent an e-mail regarding your #Primetime removal from Nina Kester.

The new Ad Revenue Program is based solely on hitting a certain threshold.

Hope that you understand that by "Invite-only," we are not trying to pick-and-choose who we offer Ad Rev to. If creators can generate descent income with advertising, you will get it. We don't have enough staff members to pass out a couple of dollars to everyone at this time.

I really like this idea. I hope when it comes out of beta soon so everyone can try it(even if 25$ a month minimum.)

Out of the 180+ pages on the site, I missed a week once. SideChicks was penciled by Walter Geovani who is tearing it up on Red Sonja. I'm closing in on 100K page views. Just what kind of hurdle do I need to clear to get an invite?

You have to generate at least $25 worth of Ad Revenue in a given month to join the program.

We made revisions to the old #Primetime program so that members had to have a minimum of 1,000 subscribers along with strong community engagement (whether that be by engaging readers or by engaging other creators on different series).

Well, we're phasing out that requirement now, in fact, we're phasing out all of #Primetime in favor of the Ad Revenue Program. It's open to anyone who hits the $25 minimum threshold.

speaking of 25$ ad revenue requirment, how will we know when we hit that number? i know it has something to do with viewers being able to see ads, but is there like a specific number like 100k views a day or something? :<

actually i don't really have much knowledge on this topic either,how does the 25$ thingy work :<

I like the change, but there's one small issue. Aside from those already receiving ad revenue nobody has a clue how many pagesviews = $25. Give people access to that information and people will chase that number.

It's not a perfect science, so there's no way you could give a fixed number of pageviews for hitting the $25 threshold. The ad payouts fluctuate - unless tapastic has deals with people who are placing ads on the site with fixed prices, the number of pageviews needed to generate $25 will vary.

If you need something to aspire to, assume the average payout is about $2.50 per 1,000 ad views. You'd need 10k of views in a month to reach the minimum threshold. And that is if every single ad was paying out $2.50. Some pay more, some pay that amount, some pay less.

Either way, you're looking at 10k or more per month. So start cranking out updates and getting more eyeballs on your pages. LOL

I was part of the Primetime program, and understand I will be grandfathered into the new system. Is this automatic? When will this start for me?

It's automatic, and the payouts occur once you accrue $25.
