Problems in splicing a webcomic using photoshop

i have created a scroll-reading web comic, and i also search some of the tutorial and video on how to do splice. but im still dont understand a few things,..
my problem as below:

1) i choose slice select tool-> right click select divide slice->divide horizontal ->only maximum to 50 slices, cannot more than that? what if my comic is longer than 50 slices?

2) i choose slice select tool-> right click select divide slice->divide horizontal ->1000 pixels per slices---> when i select this 1000, nothing happened, it supposed to slice but nothing happend, why?

3)assume i have suceed slicing, but when i want to go select 'save for web', this option is in grey mode, and i cant select it like all the video has taught, why?

So it's super obnoxious, but I've noticed there's a bug with this tool? You need to like delete the number and retype it in order for it to implement it. So basically select "1000 pixels per slice" then back space 1000 and retype it. Then you SHOULD suddenly see the slices.

50 slices is pretty long, I think. Tapas only lets you upload up to 40 images so it may be best to stay within that amount. I supposed you could manually crop it into two different images first and then slice up those two images?

Going off what @justaskeleton said above, to do it a bit faster you can just hit the down arrow key and then up again instead of retyping in the number.

For the third thing, it may be greyed out because the image is too big. That would be my guess anyway. So then slicing it up into different images first like in my first suggestion might help with that as well.

You can also put your .png and .jpeg files through this extension if you need too. It's free and helps convert, resize, and splice your panels

thank you, the slice line did appear, but the save as web still unable to click. never mind, i have use the croppy site to do it. and my first webcomic has suceed publish. here's the link: https://tapas.io/series/The-Eggs-Guardian . it seems no one will notice for a new comic, do we need to promote it after publish or just leave it like that?

I don't use photoshop, but I think its more comfortable to splice my webcomit with this tool: https://pinetools.com/split-image
Its pretty easy and comfortable

The reason why the "save for web" option is greyed out is because the image itself is too long. Try cropping it in half before slicing and see if that helps. I've set this function up as an action so all I have to do is press one button and it does it all automatically. Hope that helps

click on the 1000 and then click low arrow and then upper arrow. Imagine it like refreshing, sometimes it appears sometimes it doesn't. I experienced the same thing like you and now it's working perfectly. No point using outside tool tbh.
