A note about animal alternates: Most shapeshifters can shift into one bird form and one mammal form. Royal-class shifters can do one bird and two or three mammals. The Dunamis-class, of which Daecon is the only living example, has a near unlimited ability to shift into birds and mammals but he has not figured this out yet. Daecon can also form hybrids, such as a winged human or a centaur. So far, every bird or animal form that Daecon can take was discovered by accident, when he needed to take that form.
Special Skills: in addition to the shapeshifting skills mentioned above, as a Dunamis Daecon has exceptional
Healing abilities on others. His magic can undo some of the most severe wounds and he can even bring the recently deceased back to life (if the deceased person wishes to return). His self-healing skills are even stronger: he is essentially immortal because his body repairs itself as fast as damage is happening. A bullet can pass right through him, but he will emerge unscathed because the damage the bullet does is repaired as fast as it happens. Daecon can visit the Astral Plain and visit the dead.
Daecon also has the unique ability to grant and revoke magical power to other shapeshifters. He can create a Royal Class from a common shifter by granting him the more powerful magic of a Royal, and he can create a common shifter from a Royal Class by siphoning the Royal magic out of that unfortunate person. If so inclined he can remove all magic abilities whatsoever from a Shifter, essentially turning that person into a normal human. One thing he can NOT do, however, is create a Shapeshifter out of a normal human. If a person is born without the magic it cannot be imparted to them.
Daecon has a unique intuition in that he will know your name just by looking at you, and he will know when he is being deceived. You cannot keep secrets from a Dunamis.
Fun Fact: Daecon did not know about any of this until the day before yesterday. He was minding his business, fleeing from some homophobic hillbillies, when he was forced into a life threatening situation and completed his first shape shifting, which saved his life. Until that happened he had never heard of shapeshifters and was living among normal humans.
