Hi, guys! Please support my new novel A Cup of Ice-Cold Matcha here2!

Why should I read ACOICM?

If you're that reader who wants matcha coffee, enemies to lovers, and full of comedy, drama, and exciting twists (and, yes, smut), you're basically encouraged to read the book and enjoy the slice of life of Arthur Reyes Seymour as he roams in his new-found place.

Why did I write ACOICM?

I wrote ACOICM after drinking matcha coffee. I know, I know; it's a wild but sensible reason, but I can't help it. Being on hiatus after 2-3 years and with a lot of creative juices leaking out, I badly want to etch my own story so that people will like it. But really, money is also a factor; but then again, I like writing stories.

What are the current chapters, Cams?

Currently, I have created 7 chapters, 2 of which have been uploaded on Tapas (the second one will be today, May 23, at 10:00 AM (PST). These are the current chapter titles so far:

  1. First Day of the Semester
  2. Obnoxious
  3. The Same Kid
  4. What the Actual F-?
  5. Speaking of the Devil
  6. Pygmalion and Galatea
  7. The Opening

Each chapters are released every ten days. The next one will be on June the 2nd, at 10:00 AM.

Here are the first paragraphs of each chapter, starting from Chapter 3:

Chapter 3: The Same Kid

For someone like Roxie, she sure spends money like she has a sugar daddy.

Going from stall to stall at this mall, she treated me to a lot of branded dresses, with each having a heavier price tag than the other. I sincerely worry this woman will drain her card to nil if she keeps spending like there’s no tomorrow.

“Geez, girl, you’ve spent like . . . 60 dollars for these dresses. I don’t think I could even wear them all for the whole four years that I’ll be here.”

Chapter 4: What the Actual F-?

Art of War, chapter 5, verse 19.

Thus, one who is skillful at keeping the enemy on the move maintains deceitful appearances, according to which the enemy will act.

It’s great to realize that when in time of need, Sun Tzu’s teaching seems to fit the situation. This I am in is a war between me and my sanity against reality. I guess all the nights I was reading Art of War in Project Gutenberg were worth it after all.

Chapter 5: Speaking of the Devil

“Please look at the camera for the picture. Oh, and comb that hair of yours; your hair looks like a seagull’s nest.”

I was just in time for the appointment photoshoot for my school ID and Roxie was behind me, struggling to run because of her six-inch cigarette stilettos.

“Geez, Arthur, calm your legs down, I can’t walk anymore if you keep going!”

Chapter 6: Pygmalion and Galatea

“The last time I checked, we are at a university, and I am a student here.”

Kaizer casually pulled a cup of cold matcha coffee from his bag and took a sip from it. I rolled my eyes in discomfort. “There are other seats. Go there and get away from me.”

Regarde autour de toi. Look around you.”

Chapter 7: The Opening

Alarm clocks are meant to be loud, yes, but why does it have to be so loud that it’ll destroy my eardrums? The red neon lights in my clock shouted six in the morning, and most probably, our dear aunt had yet to get out of her queen-sized mattress, so to speak. The need to stretch my arms up toward the ceiling was a necessity, and a yawn egressed in my mouth as I linger the foul smell of my dried saliva dripping from my mouth. My eyes are heavy as fuck and want to drown themselves back in the sleepful memories of the dreamland. Henceforth, I marched my way to my personal restroom and gargled tap water to obviously relinquish the smell I possessed at the moment. As I looked into the mirror, I saw a super-stressed self with eyebags underneath those green eyes and freckles. Jesus-fuckin’-Christ, disculpas por la blasfemia, but that Kaizer Licht Woodsworth, Jr. stressed the living hell out of me! Like imagine he sent those schedules at nine in the evening, and then a Service Agreement from the HR Team—who I think is just Kaizer and some random cronies, who know—and some NDAs; they don’t want the incident of the other rival café to happen here. What incident, you ask? Well . . . apparently, some staff got kicked out of the café, and as revenge, they spilled the café’s recipes for their famous lattes. The café hadn’t gone into shambles (yet), but the ex-staff sure did, paying millions for damages. And no, I’m not doing that. I’ll do more than that.

I may be spoiling the fun, but I hope this hooks you into reading the book! Happy reading, I guess? Lovelots!

Oh, and by the way, if you have any feedback on my story, I want to hear it. It will help me improve the next chapters. Thank you!

With a toast of ice-cold matcha coffee,
Juan Camilo
