Yes, we're back!
This inventory is actually one-fifth of a much longer one: the infamous Big Five inventory! You'll hear about the Big Five all the time in a personality psych class. It evaluates your personality in five dimensions: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism (remember the OCEAN~).
It would take me decades to type the whole thing out all at once, and it would probably start feeling like an exam to those who took it. ^^' So I've decided to split it up into five parts!
The previous quiz was on Neuroticism: https://forums.tapas.io/t/psych-quiz-how-neurotic-are-you-big-five-part-1/27087
Today, we're doing Openness: a measure of your creativity and willingness to accept new ideas. Openness is a very highly-debated personality trait; I think some countries don't even include it. Me, I'm wholeheartedly behind it.^^ In every culture, even the most restrictive, there are always the dreamers, the creators, the explorers. Those who think not only of what is, but also of what could be. I feel that it's part of what makes humanity so special~.
Now it's time to take the quiz! Rank each statement from 1 to 5: 1=Disagree strongly, 2=Disagree somewhat, 3= Neutral, 4=Agree somewhat, 5=Agree strongly. Read very carefully~. Scoring directions are at the end.
The Big Five Inventory: Openness
I see myself as someone who...
1. Is original, comes up with new ideas
2. Is curious about many different things
3. Is ingenious, a deep thinker
4. Has an active imagination
5. Is inventive
6. Values artistic, aesthetic experiences
7. Prefers work that is routine
8. Likes to reflect, play with ideas
9. Has few artistic interests
10. Is sophisticated in art, music, or literature
Scoring
To calculate your score, first reverse the values for Statements 7 and 9 (change 1's to 5's and 4's to 2's, and vice versa). Then add the values for all 10 items, and divide by 10 to get the average.
The highest possible score is a 5, and the lowest possible is, of course, a 1. I got a 4.80: real high, just as expected. XD This is a community of artists, so I expect to see lots of high scores out there!
