I actually kinda liked it tbh. Kinda saddens me to see so many negative impressions of it by a show that's created by queer people of the community to get such a bad reaction.
There's a lot of low hanging fruit but bare in mind, this isn't only the staff's fault, but production big wigs who are the OPPOSITE of what the public wants. A good example of CEO intervening is probably Voltron which made the show go downhill so badly.
The jokes were not as bad as people seem, and it made sense with some of the jokes. I thought it was a fun watch, but I didn't have like EPICLY high expectations.
Honestly, I personally like the queer jokes as well as the CIS STRAIGHT MAN being the butt of the joke and being the 1 trait character that EVERYONE seems to dread, while in other media it's always the queer person that's the butt of the joke.
The clips and such did paint the show in a worse light than it actually was, but what made me actually happy was the queer people were actually NOT one note archetypes, especially when you watch the series overall. All of them personally had flaws, weren't perfect, and their sexuality didn't completely override their personality.
I also felt like some were TOO MUCH on the 'OH MAN WE BIG STRAIGHT MAN WE WANT TO ERASE QUEERS FROM THE WORLD', yeah, it's gonna scream cheesy. But at least it isn't reduced to family guy humor and the like. While there are times when the animation was stoic and stiff, it still holds to the similar standard of Archer, Metalcolypse, and Final space.
If you want another queer show that also had a lotta queer humor involved, there's Super Drags, which again IMO was a fun watch, but it's just better to keep in mind that the genre's still new much like shows allowing people to enjoy feminist humor.
