Well, my main character does not have a good relationship with them, like at all. The result of very narcissistic parents with a heavy preference for his sister. Him and his sister have a close relationship tho!

It's still to be told in the story, but my main character's parents divorced when he was 10, his father left town and hadn't seen him in six years, plus he barely called or texted him. Now he's 16, he had to move to the town his father lives to play hockey and they reunited, but although he tries a lot to get along with him, the old man keeps the distance and seems not to care at all about his kids. But I'm still building this relationship.

Another one has a close relationship with his father, but the old dude is too harsh and demands a lot from the kid.

In order to have a relationship with their parents, they should still be there.
This is valid for both the main characters, Annie and Scott. Victorian times were tough.
Despite this, Annie's father figure, uncle Scott, is always with her and they are quite connected in life. There is a good synergy between the two and an average of 20 years of difference, they have grown up and fought the difficulty of life together.

My main characters don't have the best relationship with their parents. It's more they tolerate each other. For two of them though, as they get older they have a much better relationship with one of their parents.

Agony: very negative, can't reveal for plot reasons, but real bad.
Thesis: fine? Fine.
Duenna: got some not great influences and ideas passed down, but overall loving
Motif: kinda lonely, parent's worked a lot
Sequel: very supportive! little but of favoritism towards his brother, but not bad

Forces Of Nature: The Season Sisters have a pretty good relationship with their parents. Autumn is especially close to their father and as is Spring with their mother.

Their brother Dry sometimes isn't on best terms with them due to his antics and feeling overshadowed by his sisters, but at the end of the day they still care for each other very much.

Rainy has a good relationship them as well, but tends to be moody and withdrawn at times which worries their mother

Circus Freaks:

Asa has very good relationships with her parents. She's a bit spoiled and admires her father a lot.

Mimo doesn't remember his biological parents, but is very close to his adoptive ones, his mother especially.

Mago... uh... well... it's complicated...

Right now Andrew has a good relationship with his father, and though his mother died when he was younger he's got no issues with the woman who is soon to be his stepmother. Though it's implied in the story that in the future his relationship with his father is terrible, to the point he's cut himself off from him and the rest of his family, and when questioned about him 'has nothing good to say about him.'

@fleurravenbooks nice to meet you again, we subbed each other, but hope it's ok I join
Keep up the hard work and hope you gain more subs :beers:

Owen Moriarty: has a loving relationship with Evlyn (mom) and Doland (dad). His parents have always been supportive of him. He shares similar hobbies with his father. While life at home is usually peaceful, he does feel hurt when his dad and big brother Evan get into arguments. As a 13 year old boy the story reflects his transition from following his parents' decisions to making his own decisions.

Evan Moriarty: in his childhood he had a good relationship with his parents. His real father Lachlan went MIA leaving an Infant Evan and his mom Evlyn behind. Lachlan's brother Doland stepped in to assist Evlyn and the two eventually fell in love/ married. Doland and Evan had a good relationship initially, till Evan felt Doland was too dominating. (Doland and Lachlan had a close bond) Evan and Doland have strong, contrasting personalities that evolved into arguments. This caused Evan to drift away from his family. He loves his mom and brother but hates Doland. He may also be annoyed that his mom allows Doland to take charge in decisions.

Xun : he is an orphan with no memory of his parents

Amèlia: she's got a good relationship with both her dad and her mum, maybe she's a bit closer to her dad, as she was always his favourite of their two daughters :stuck_out_tongue:

Lucifer: it's complicated and I can't say much because spoilers; I just can say if there's something like a dad to him, the answer would be eternal hate :joy:

Tumael: "who the hell are even my parents and where do I even come from?"

A very interesting one bc it's also kind of important for my Main Character !!

Toby has a bit of a complicated relationship with his mother.
He loves her dearly and does everything in his power to support her, since her job barely covers the neccecities and she suffers from severe depression and alcoholism. But at the same time, Toby doesn't like being around her, bc she can be very gruff and mean and doesn't show a lot of affection towards him. it's why Toby rather stays outside in his free time than be at home.
Since his father vanished when he was 3, he has no memory of him.
