Hello, webcomic artists and novelist Nice to see you, all the masterpiece author. Can I ask you 3 questions? I will give a free digital drawing artwork if you guys like as a gift...
:grinning::grinning: I am new comic artist, so i have some questions about posting comic and stuff. :grinning::grinning:

:kissing_heart: 1. How should I arrange my comic schedule?
(I get a lot of answers that i should post one page per day, but my comic gets messed up if I do it, since it is in thrilling genre)

:stuck_out_tongue: 2. Do you have any advice for advertising comics or novels?

:joy: 3. Can you share your work too? I would like to learn more from my senpai.

Thank you. And this is my webcomic:
:hugging: webtoon: https://m.webtoons.com/en/challenge/the-idol-bl/list?title_no=5036585

Thanks a lot and if you want a digital drawing for cover as a gift, please comment so I will do for free. But help me to answer those questions 🥺

  1. I think that depends on a lot of personal things. How fast can you draw each update (long term without burning out, too)? How regularly will you be able to keep up with it based on your rl schedule? How often do you want to post?
I post M/W/F and that works really well for me. I know quite a few people that upload just once or twice a week and that seems to work really well for them, too. There’s a pretty wide range of good options to choose from

  2. I am legit the worst at advertising, so I don’t think I have much to say on this note :see_no_evil: I’ve heard some people use tumblr, Reddit, and IG to advertise both comics and novels, so if any of those seem to be good fits for you, maybe try posting teasers on there with a good hashtag

  3. I have a novel if you’re interested in reading  it’s all about heartfelt and awkward moments LOL

So I will answer your 2nd & 3rd question first.
Cross promote the hell out of your comics!!!!! Everywhere!! I've gone back to using my twitter account after a year of inactivity just for my comic and it actually helps.Ask your family to share it on their Whatsapp status and with their friends too providing you're okay with it.Initially you can start with once a day and at different times.Monitor your statistics to see when your readers are most active and do this over the course of two weeks.

Edit : Read the first chapter.I do like the pacing and the art and lines are clean and neat.Since youve only posted 3 chapters..see how it goes for a week and analyze before coming up with a schedule..I post mine at 12.30pm IST since I'm in India. That means my local readers will have enough time to read it and then 12 hours later so will my global readers who are quite active during my night time. Also I think you posted your description twice, so please edit that.

My comic is slice of life & Rom com

You’re welcome! I hope some of that was helpful! Also - you might want to put your comic link in your profile info here on the forums. I’ve found plenty of comics and novels after interacting with someone on the forum and clicking through to their work!

you have double typed blurb on tapas and few typos inside the text in dialogues.

Yes thank you for pointing out, I have fixed them 🥺🥺..i always suck at english

1) honestly depends! I recommend 3-4 times a week if you can manage for the algorithm, but if it's too much work and you're doing it as a hobby then you can probs do less as long as you're consistent.
2) Use social media! Like, share some panels or promo art on for example Instagram or Twitter and that may help a bit. Being an active member of the forums here has also helped me gain some new and active subs!
3) You can see my novel if you want, but I can't promise it's any good... https://tapas.io/series/Fair-No-Fair1

Also, I think your style is very nice and so different from mine, so I'm interested to see how you would draw my main characters.

The link you have given has error and it dies. And ofc, give me a pic of your character, I want to try drawing it in manga / korean comic style @MeLovesTacos

  1. Since it's a thriller, I agree that you probably shouldn't split it and upload one page a day since it could really ruin the flow. I think you should just upload as often as you are comfortable while keeping a consistent schedule.
Think in the long run. For example, let's say right now you're uploading 2 chapters a week, ten panels each. Will you be able to keep that up for months (or years, if your story is going to be that long)? If not, maybe update less. Consider one, 15 panel update a week or something.

  2. The Tapas forums are a good place to start. The people you'll get on the forums will be some of your most active readers (lots of likes and comments), but we are only a very, very small portion of all the readers on the platform. I personally use social media the most (Instagram and Twitter), and have had a little success with Reddit. Reddit scares me though so I don't do that very often >.<

  3. It's a dark fantasy comic, which may or may not be up your alley, but here it is

Here's the webtoon link if you prefer that https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/lycoris-rising/list?title_no=460025

I think in the manga way would be super cool! That style is quite different from my own

Lol that is an art work for my friend birthday. I will draw a new B&W manga style of your character for you as a gift if you like.

That'd be awesome! Your friend must have liked it, I think it's a cool gift to get. ^^

I will send the artwork to you tomorrow, it is 5.43 a.m in Japan, my country now and i havent slept lolol
