was this drawn traditionaly?

The more and more I analyze the, the cooler it gets for me! I don't know how intentional it was for you, but there seems to be a lot of irony in this.

First, there is the contrast between the happy pink and yellow that are surrounding the girl who seems to have a sad look. I, personally, get the feeling like she was once happy, but no longer.

There is also the contrast between the bird and the butterfly. Since the bird is not colored in, my eyes went to the butterfly before the vulture, so when I saw the girl and the butterfly, the pictured seem nice and somewhat peaceful. But then you see the bird and it puts a weird twist to it all. I actually really like that the vulture became the last thing I saw, because I get the feeling that even tho the girl has her hand stretched for the bird, its like she is thinking more about the butterfly than the bird.

I hope I didn't overanalyze, but either way, I really like this piece!

Also, after looking at this a second time, I noticed that you made the face brighter than the other things, so that it is still clear that she is the main focus, and not the butterfly, even tho the butterfly seems to pop out the most. I really like that about this piece!

Wow first, THANKS for the compliments! thumbsup
Uh... If I have to describe my art, this for example, it would be "one yet many". Now I dunno if that's the idea behind every single artwork in the world, it's just for me, I like that people see differently. There are things that you see in it that I, as the creator, don't. That for me is like mind blowingly amazing co it's like we're looking at the same thing but at the same time we aren't. thumbsup smile
The only thing I can say is that I made this with death in mind. ( not depressed or anything just the idea of it inspired me to make this) thumbsup blush

yeah glad i could help! I had a ton of fun looking at it! After knowing what you had in mind, I can see it in the picture. This was fun smile

@mick33x I'm glad my post inspired you into starting analyzing other people's works! You have a really good observation, you could either make an awesome art critique or a psychologist smiley

yeah no its been super fun! Thank you for the compliment smile if you/or people you know want some critique, just say so, ill be happy to!

Wahh all the feedback is going towards my post and nobody is posting, I feel under pressure open_mouth

Anyway you guys are great!

@Sarah Thank you! I'm so flattered >///<

@Silerna Aww, I don't know how to take compliments I feel embarrassed stuck_out_tongue Thank you!

@gabmonastrial Thank you for posting!! You saved me, being the center of the attention is a bit overwhelming even if I enjoy feedback ^//^
Anyway it looks great and full of depth, I can relate to your work a lot, I would like you to post it here when it's done and tell us if you still like it!

@mick33x This is actually very cool, the black and white contrast makes it feel like an empty and distorted reality, and it has an overwhelming feeling of dead space, on the other side the heart of the asteroid seems to be taking the shape of a rocky forest that is the entrance of a whole new underground world.
Or maybe it's just a good material for the crazy wink

thanks! yeah i like your description much better than my brothers! He said it just looked like a dreidel....

That's such a beautiful piece! open_mouth I love all of the brush textures you've used, it's definitely captivating!

I drew my OC as a tree spirit for no real reason except that I love drawing creepy things and this OC is generally my target for that. People generally like my creepy art because it's more obvious that I enjoy making it, so I thought it was relevant xD

That feeling you're describing has already surfaced though, I'm pretty unsure of this. It's still a work in progress because I want to fix some things!

Hey @KaiLynx ! Sorry for the late response, I didn't see your post!

Thank you for the compliment!
I was thinking of making my own brush pack and share it once I figure out The ones I like the most and fix some smile
Your picture is wonderful, he has all the grace and elegance of a tree.
I like how the tree lines blend with the white flesh.
I'm not really sure about the background though, I think it's a bit distracting and doesn't let you see what's going on under their feet much!

I'd like to see the final look!

Hi!...^3^ I have my Art gallery on DeviantArt. Some examples:

I've always had issues with shading and have tried a lot of different methods, none of which I liked. So I was googling and came across this technique. I think I took it a little more drastic but right now I really love it (even though it took a few hours).

What I have isn't nearly as inspired as the other posts on this thread, but I have a couple of character designs I was just fiddling around with. Kinda wish I had something a bit more substantial, but oh well.
