That is random indeed! you rally seem to have a kinda fascination with hair

Kyara:
Kyara used to have very long hair, back when she still lived within the citywalls. While she liked the way it looked, she hated the amount of care it took to maintain it. But because life within the citywalls was relatively clean and uneventful, she managed to get by.

It wasn't until she started living outside the walls, where supplies are a lot more scarce with sand everywhere, maintaining it became more and more a pain. When she then also started working as a scrapper for Old Nan, it became hell to deal with. Extended journeys into the scrapfields, dealing with all kinds of filth and muck, not too mention it getting in her face during intense combat, she finally decided to cut it short.

Now she simply gives it a wash and uses a blow dryer. On the road she has a small supply of personal hygiene products, but tose'll quickely run out when the jouney lasts longer than anticipated (as is the case now in hte story.)

Zack:
Zack doesn't really care. He washes it every other day and then lets it air dry. The faxt that he has a bit of a heirstyle, with his sides shaved short, is thanks to Kyara. She decided that after they started living with Old Nan he needed to do something different with his look.

Rowyn:
One of the most "girly" girls I have. I imagine her putting a ton of effort in maintaining her insanely long hair. (As a guy I'm too unfamiliar with all the different kinds of routines, but I imagine hers being extensive)

Grayson:
I imagine him using a shitton of product to create his tight, slick back look. The fact that hairs still stick out annoys him to no end.

I definitely do. it's one of my favorite things to draw, and I also just enjoy writing a diversity of hair textures into my characters

Gotta admit it's not something I've ever given a lot of thought about. Even the concept of "hair texture" was something I had never heard about haha.

Like, when you started describing your characters with having 3A hair or something, I was at a loss. Legit had to google that.

Guess that's what I get for being a white guy, living amongst white people, who almost all have straight or slightly wavey hair. Seeing someone with actual, natural curls is a rarity to me 🤣

How do you style your hair?

Carmen (Thunder Chicken): Back when I had my mullet, hair care was a hassle. Since I've started keeping it short my hair care routine consists of daily washes (because I do a dirty job) and wearing a baseball cap (which keeps most, but not all, of that dirty job out of my hair). I literally do not own a hairbrush or comb.

Daecon: I used to spend forever on my hair. Early in my story I kept it dyed blue just to be weird and different. My natural hair colour, snow white, was weird enough - I always got bullied for it as a child - but I wanted it to look weird on my own terms and so I dyed it blue. I also kept it long in the back and pouffy on top in an attempt to hide my pointy "elf ears". Don't you dare call it a mullet! A mullet never looked that good! After discovering my shapeshifter powers, though, I can no longer dye it because every time I shift it reverts to its natural pure white. Also, I keep it long in the back but added length to the front and sides as well, and instead of trying to hide my ears I tie the long hair growing out of my temples into braids, which kind of draws attention to the ears.

Owen and Leander told me that as a Dunamis I no longer need to bathe or wash my hair because my body cannot be soiled. I believe this, because any time I try to wash it the water beads right off and my hair remains dry. I've also noticed that while fishing in eagle form, after diving into the lake, when I emerge with my fish I am bone dry. Still, I love my shower time (especially when Evander joins me), so I still shower every day and go through the motions of washing my hair, mainly out of habit.

what is the most awkward/uncomfortable thing that happened to you recently? (but sfw)

Kattar: Washing is always awkward for me, because though I'm increasing my mobility gradually since the accident I can't shower well by myself. I don't know any adults who WANT to need help with their basic hygiene.

Alicia: Exploding at my sweetheart on our first date only to realize I was a total jerk.

Kattar: You did have a bit of a point though, we were kind of both in the wrong.

Andrew: Trying to argue with a German customer about some obscenities they wanted carved onto a sign for their front door and why I...wouldn't do that. Everything about that conversation was awkward, trying to make myself understood when I understand very little German and speak less, explaining why I won't help them swear at every person who approaches their front door.

Jinho: I still don't understand that.

Andrew: I speak all three of your languages so you have no excuse.

Jinho: The most awkward thing that happened to me recently was being hit on by two women at the same time at a bar. It was like they were tag-teaming me or something.

Melissa: I had to see a new doctor recently and he thought I was a child at first. I just watched the tangible discomfort wash over his face as he asked me where my parents were.

Leia: My dad pretty regularly forgets to knock before opening doors all over our house. He apologizes for it every time but...yeah that's always awkward.

Riley: Same.

Essence: Walking into my living room in the morning to find that my neighbor is already there is always awkward. I gave her a key because she's using my fridge while her's is being repaired, but I still forget sometimes and it's weird to have someone in my house for me.

Dominic: Having a guy hit on my little sister really really intensely while she was standing right next to me. It was way more difficult than it should have been to get him to stop talking.

Ozwald: I do not do anything fancy just wash it and shampoo, and let it dry normally, I tend to cut it when it gets around my shoulder blades

Higen: ... I wish I had your hair, mine is always cut short but I use all the hair care products, I shampoo it, condition it dry it with the hot air gun, I wish I could do some other hairstyles than move it to the left or if I feel daring to the right.

Ozwald: sigh Would you feel better if I let you style my hair, big guy?

Higen: YES! immediately starts to braid Ozwald´s hair

Yeah he doesn't wear earrings often because they sometimes snag in his hair, which is a big part of the reason he ties his hair back when he wears them

Sana: "I've started to accidentally replace words in my speech. I don't know if it's my memory, or what part of my illness it's related to. I'm scared to find out. Microwave for microphone, spoon for soap, seen instead of skin. I can't remember the word after I realize I've said something wrong, which makes it worse. I'm so embarrassed. I'd rather not speak at all..."

Alicia: That's hard to judge, can it be all of them?

Kattar: Well, I think most people have a combination, but you usually have one that's your main.

Andrew: Yeah that comes most naturally to you. But for the life of me I don't know what mine is lol. Is it acts of servitude, quality time, physical touch, or words of affirmation?

Alicia: That's what I'm saying, all four of those come to me naturally, though maybe acts of servitude a little less. But I guess if I had to pick one, it's physical touch. Words of affirmation aren't always easy to give when you don't know what someone needs or wants to hear but you can always give hugs, so that's my giving language. Words of affirmation mean a lot to me, so as much as I love receiving hugs and kisses, especially when I'm really depressed, words of affirmation probably still win.

Andrew: If I have to pick one, it's probably acts of servitude as my giving language and quality time as my receiving one.

Jinho: You're pretty affectionate in every way in general though. I can't think of many ways you DON'T love people. Even giving gifts, I mean you made me a f...

Andrew: careful...

Jinho: a flippin' desk. That's kind of a big deal.

Andrew: did you like the desk?

Jinho: yes I like the flippin' desk!

Kattar: Probably acts of servitude, followed by quality time.

Melissa: Physical touch all the way, I drive my son insane with the amount of hugs I'm always giving him but he's just so cuuuute, I have to kiss his sweet little face. And my husband has long said I'm like some sort of cuddle tiger because I'll just pounce on him randomly lol. But hey, of all the creatures he could compare me to a tiger's not that bad, I mean I might have preferred a lioness, but whaddaya gonna do?

Carmen (Thunder Chicken): They say that a gay person never finishes coming out, and this has proven true for me. Most recently, the shop I work at was sold so that the old owner could retire. The new owner has made a few changes but has otherwise been pretty decent. It did not occur to me that he didn't know that I was gay until we were talking about something and I mentioned my husband. An awkward silence as he processed the words, then the conversation picked up again. He seems to be OK with it, but it caught him off guard because I do not "present" as gay. And if he isn't OK with it, well, tough titty for him.

Daecon: That would be when I was suddenly thrust into a position of leadership over an entire race that I didn't even know existed until a few days ago. I'm not normally a shy person, but dammit, I don't know how to be a king!
