I don't know what I was thinking, but I've decided to stay true to whatever 11 or 12 year old me was thinking. Whatever that might be.

This isn't a strict redraw, but I've been trying to design a picture that represents Alicia's horrible fashion sense.

new art can have just as much meaning and passion, if not more. sometimes things come to have a stronger emotional meaning to people over time

Idk where you are coming from or why you would assume people don't value their old work, we obviously do especially if we hold onto these really old pieces of art. I have a sketchbook from when I was 8 years old and I adore it. You're just being rude to be rude, get out of here People can improve and love their new art while also appreciating their old stuff, it's not an either or.

Bestie I'm gonna be so for real rn. Definitely not the crowd for that kinda comment.
You know most people here are creating stories for... no real gain? Like, a passion project? Sure, we'd love for them to go somewhere in terms of attention & monetarily, but I can say if that was my only goal here I'd just do fanart or nsfw stuff since that gets attention/money in terms of commissions. But I don't do that, because of passion for my stories and art
It is quite insulting to look at this group of people pouring hours into these characters and projects just to basically say "well its passionless, meaningless slop compared to your old work". It's gonna ruffle feathers. Perhaps put a little more thought into how you phrase things, or at least the audience you say it to.

This isn't a strict redraw, but it's a quick comparison of how my ability to render darker skin tones has improved, though this afro queen isn't as dark as Mora (no one is as dark as queen Mora except her mother lol)

I'll have to redraw Mora sometimes soon, or a new character of equivalent darkness and see how I do

Both of them are supposed to have literally black skin, but I think the second girl is a lot more readable
