Alicia's fit made of Kattar's 'stolen' sweater from "Pacifier." Drawn in June of 2024

The redraw I made yesterday:

Next time I redraw it, I think I'll draw it in my current art style.

edit: redrawn in my current style:

I really like my current style and I think I'm getting pretty close to a defined "my style" nowadays

A lot of my re-draws aren't true ground-up redraws, more like revisiting an old image. These were done because I got better at the art program I use (Krita) and wanted to apply those improvements to older images. When I first started drawing again I had no concept of layers, texture, lighting, etc. When I redo them I also refine the original (such as adding some length to the pervert in the background's legs):

With this one I added a lot of detail. I also shrunk David down because apparently when I drew it I had no concept of scale either. David was very smol in real life and so now he is shown as being smol.

Years ago, though, when I used to draw on paper, it was a true re-draw. This knight, drawn in 1988:

Done again in 1990:

Then again in 1990, this time on a computer using a mouse:

And finally, again in the mid 90's, using a less primitive computer:

Redrew an old family photo some time ago.

Almost four years apart. Still hate drawing hands...

Me too. Hands suck. You'd think that after looking at my own hands for 52 years I'd have an idea on how to draw them, but nooooope

Some of the panels from chapter 2 were direct redraws from one of my old comics, like this one:

yeah, very few people like drawing hands lol. Have you decided what Alec's wife looked like or no? is that why her face is blurred?

I hadn't yet, but her face won't be revealed until a certain point, so I have some time to figure it out. There's a reason the reader's not able to see it throughout the comic, and it has to do with Alec. That's all I'll reveal rn.

@Leyelle wow You've improved so much in just a little bit of time! I don't think it's even been a full year of digital art from you and already you've gotten so far. Also I swear me and Alicia are too similar :sob: I also have a black turtleneck dress just like that!

It's fun to see everyone else's progression in art too, I should dig some old art! I'll have to look through my things though I'm not sure if I've done any redraws?

@beebutterbee tysm, and yeah, it's been less than 100 days of digital art so far. Getting close to 100 now tho. and yeah, these similarities are too freaky. tho Alicia's sweater dress is really a sweater she stole from her (now) bf who is a foot taller than her

Hmmmm I have done one time with my old Minecraft fanfiction. I drew it again so I could see how much I improved at that time. Unfortunately… it is lost to the sands of time.

@Leyelle Oh 100 days almost? You should celebrate when you reach that milestone

And yeah it's so funny :joy: But at least its not exact, my sweater dress is all my own although and it is pretty old- it's from when I was in college! But I have worn other people's oversized sweaters as dresses before, because I am just that short too lol usually I have to wear leggings though because its just a tad too short to be considered a normal dress.

@abigaillmartin Oh no!! I feel that, I have alot of old digital art I have no idea where it would be now if its still around in some forlorn flash drive hidden in storage or something :sob:

Yeah that wasn’t digital art. It was back when I used to draw only in pencil. I never inked anything in my Minecraft fanfiction/anime days.

oh true, I wonder what kind of celebration I should do

College can't be that long ago since you said you're still in your twenties right? But yeah, Alicia has a bad habit of taking her boyfriend's clothes and never returning them. He should complain more but he doesn't lol

Usually when I reach an artistic milestone I go to my favorite restaurant, but you could do anything really :open_mouth: You could even make an event here on the forums, but even something simple like buying a fancy coffee or something can help mark the milestone. I try to acknowledge my successes or achievements however I can now, because I have a tendency to downplay them

I feel like it's been a long while! I went to college last when i was 22, now I'm 28!! (Birthday just passed a while ago) But also time feels super long for me, I have a weird time distortion because I feel like I've lived for millennia in just 6 years :joy:

Lol Alicia!! Girl just likes cute sweaters, she can't help it :sparkles:

@abigaillmartin Oooh I got you, yeah I wish I had my old old art from when I was a kid too! I only have one sketchbook from when I was 8 and I treasure that little thing, but man, I wish I had more drawings from when I was little. I find it really fun to look back at old childhood art :open_mouth: I wish I had my middle school and high school stuff too that's pretty much gone, I only have a few remnants

I feel ancient enough to be a Queen maybe lol :joy:
big curtsy right back at you

i think that's definitely a good practice, we can use all the opportunities we can get to celebrate, I say.

me stopping and wondering...

do we have Star Bucks in my country?!!!!
