I think it is, but I'm not willing to do it. ^^;
I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to things like that: if I don't know exactly what I'm talking about, I am very averse to writing about it, or even drawing it. Don't tell anyone, but that's probably 75% of the reason why I write so much fantasy. No one can tell you you're wrong when YOU decide how the world works.
Of course, if you were to write "complete" fantasy, no one would know what you're talking about. Every story is grounded in our real human world in some capacity...which means you inevitably need to do research at some point in order to make things believable.
But it just doesn't feel like enough for me. I can read about the circulatory system all day long, but do I REALLY know how much blood would spurt out of a certain type of wound? Or would the sword I made up ACTUALLY work with my character's fighting style?
It's one of those things that just stresses me out even though I know it shouldn't. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, no one cares. But if the things I'm writing aren't 100% plausible, I CARE.
So what do I do? I fabricate as much stuff as possible and avoid research like the plague. 6_6 Terrible solution, I know...
But how do you handle research? Are you one of those people who picks a subject and dives in, gathering all the information you can get? (I should do that, but I'm too lazy~) Or is realism not a huge concern for you? I mean, with genres like romance, there's not a whole lot of research to be done, unless you want to go in-depth with your characters' jobs/hobbies...
