For me personally, the two love interests within my story are based off of a mix of characters I've seen in dramas or movies.

The main character, is sort of based on me and a mixture of what I want to be. Though she is judgmental at first, her personality in itself is the headstrong type of person.

The first love interest, is inspired by the characters I've seen throughout many dramas: the typical, nice, flirty second lead. You know, the one who acts silly, but is genuine and manly in serious situations.

The second is inspired by of two things: the main lead in the webtoon 'cheese in the trap' and the guy my best friend fell in love with (lol).

I have 2 novels with romance sub-genre.

1. The story of two messed up teenagers who ran away, or rather, drove away from home.

I don't think my characters are based on anyone.

The main protagonist in my story is someone that I made up years ago. I live in a small country where most people are homophobes and I've written all the things I've heard every day from those people and I've made my character deal with those things. And he's a pessimist like myself so I guess he's a little bit based on me...

His crush is the opposite. More of a cheerful, optimistic guy that I don't know where he came from because I don't have a cheerful mind ha ha

I feel kind of embarrassed saying this, but one of my main characters is kind of based on me. I say this because I drew from my own experiences with social anxiety when writing his character, although the underlying causes are different. Also, little things to flesh out his character (like what snacks he likes) are the same as my own tastes.

The other character is more made up. He represents someone I wish I had in my life when I was dealing with my own anxieties. Someone who maybe doesn't know or understand the whole picture, but is willing to try.

And I think that it's actually nice because those two characters will be more real to you, and therefore will reflect on the paper as dimensional characters. And I think it's really nice how the other character is someone you wish you had in your life. That makes him a little more special, don't you think?

Well my characters aren't based off anyone as far as I can tell. Most of the time, they just kinda happen while I'm writing with an idea in mind.

That's generally speaking cause my character in one of my stories, The Raven In My Apartment, was definitely inspired by Saitaima from One Punch Man, and Gintoki from Gintama.

I would say its a little of both, it's based on a person because of the emotions and he's also a fictional character

The characters in my two labeled romances are all based on fictional characters: specifically, heroes and gods of Greek mythology. Admittedly, the first set is labeled semi-ironically, and only one of the four total stories so far ends happily.

The first set features: Artemis and Apollo (w/ Orion) || Ares and Athena
