Looking for my people here on Tapas. I've been uploading my graphic novel as I go - it's a work in progress but due to be finished in the next few weeks (it's a Masters project so it's not like I can dump it halfway through - it will be concluded very soon). It's my first GN/comic as my usual area is children's books. It would be great to get to know some of you and your work a little better.
damn, your art style is gorgeous! definitely checking this out
heres my comic. i spose dark fantasy lesbians is kiiiiind of niche?
and heres some of the best odd or niche webcomics in my library:
@maxleemac, please give us a more clear idea of what you think is niche or odd in a comic.
Hi there, for me, anything that isn't mainstream. Odd ideas, strange topics, unexpected art styles. Just anything that makes you think 'Oh...this is different'...
Thanks so much. I'm going to work my way through the list - you are AWESOME!
I make a Hispanic Cyberpunk comic called Detox. While cyberpunk is barely making traction now (trending), I never really got to see my culture in it so I made a series with it while throwing in super powered humans. Kind of a hybrid genre.
Well, my comic is about lesbian pirates in space, that's probably a niche:
Fantastic idea - subscribed ready to read as soon as I've finished this project. Looking forward to it - thank you.
I tried to read but it asked me to log in to a different account - I'll come back and do that as soon as I can. Thank you
I think my webcomic is pretty weird. It takes place in a universe full of public domain superheroes and so the world building is this weird blend of scifi and fantasy.
Well "Odd" is right there in our group's anthology title ... We tend to come from a classical western style of creators, but I would suggest that the newer stuff is more of a hybrid of storytelling sensibilities ... Start off at the SOFT BONES story arc, see if we're a potential fit for you, if you will.
We’ve been told ours is unusual. We are a husband and wife team that work to make our lil robot post apocalyptic comic.
If I have to choose only one genre for my comics, I'd say that it's hard sci-fi... but of really weird kind. In my comics, I mix thoughtful technical descriptions with lewd jokes, elements of satire and black humor, and all of this is drawn in weird poor-done semi-realistical stiff style with a touch of retro-futurism. So I hope it's odd and niche enough for meeting your request.
I'm doing magical realism with light absurdist and surrealist elements. And people say my art style is unusual.
idk am i really that odd? it all makes sense in my head
I think your comic is very beautiful. A little hard to read--but my eyes are shot and it does go well with the art. I think if you printed this it would be perfectly fine. I subbed and will try to read it next week when my eyes are working again.
Well, at one point we have a giant man eating bug person in a bikini so...arguably that qualifies lol
I think my webcomic fits your description of a niche comic. It follows a ghost as she tries to unravel the mystery of her, also deceased, wife's reincarnation. Thank you if you take the time to check it out!
Well I have two weird comics
A fantasy comic thats more of a psychological horrorAnd a silent short story about a man consumed by mold
Excellent - thank you.Such a great idea and the artwork is
YASS! I love these - Lead Liner looks especially cool. Thank you!
