This is probably my favourite part. Though it's a bit dark. It's a little long, but I hope it's enjoyable!

One day, the children ran around splashing as usual and another kappa appeared. This one was not from the family of Sou, and much older with his green scales so much darker they were almost black. And unlike Sou, who was friendly and kind, this kappa grabbed a young girl and tried to drown her.

Screams and shouts and thrashing flooded the air as water sprayed high, but everybody knows kappa are most adept in their home, the water. Nobody could out-swim them, not even Sou who raced after him and the flailing girl.

When Sou returned, empty-handed, the village was angry. Word spread up and up until it reached the shugo-daimyo who oversaw the area. It was the fifth child to be drowned and eaten and he would not allow another to be killed. From then on everyone spurned kappa who came close. Some were caught in fishing nets, lured in by chunks of cucumber, then slaughtered and thrown back into the lake as a warning to the rest.

Some pleaded to the shugo-daimyo, saying how it was only the rogue kappa causing issues, but he wouldn’t listen. In his eyes every kappa was dangerous and needed to be killed.

I’d cried when Sou told me he was leaving, and begged him to take me with him. But I was just a child, and he was a kappa.

Battle scenes are literally my favorite!

Almost immediately, the area over the battlefield darkened, a swarm of smaller bugs diving down at the boys and the demons. A deafening buzz rumbled through the area as the four males found themselves unable to see through the maelstrom insect bodies.

"What the hell?!" Mammon cursed loudly, "I can't see a bloody thing!"

"They're not attacking," Kuro called back in observation, "Just..."

"They're distracting us!" Lucifer finished, the feeling of Kira's magic keeping his form here falter caused the realization to sink in quickly, "He's going after, Vermillion!" He yelled, quickly conjuring a gust of his own whirlwind to clear an opening through the body of flying pests.

He enchanted his vision, the field opened up before him but it was too late, Arius was a few inches from Kira, blade poised to strike at her neck.

Lucifer was about to lunge, the chances of him making it in time were slim but he couldn't let all they'd worked for centuries go down just like that.

He was stopped by a cold chill down his spine, a feeling not his but belonging to the master of the Seal.

Kira?

Enjoy this snippet from Episode 13 that just went live this past weekend! Whatever could be happening?

“Looks like a mugging gone wrong. The victim probably put up more of a fight than expected, scared whoever you saw off then things turned murderous." The officer's words sounded irritated at Landis' questioning.

“A mugging?” Landis blinked. Around them, he saw a small crowd of rubbernecking pedestrians, he did his best to watch his tone. “Something took a bite out of the victim, seems extreme for a mugging.”

The doll stepped forward defensively in front of the officer making Landis flinch backwards. Though his body had reverted back to their original state, he didn't need enhanced features to confirm his suspicions. He had to choose his battles. The officer could've been right as shifters weren't uncommon. Not wanting to admit it out right, but maybe he was making something out of nothing. He hesitantly backed down. For now.

"If that's all, I'll be going now. I'm behind on my deliveries."

“A… blueberry pie?” I blinked as I stared up at her from the ground. “You paid someone to help you steal a pie?”

“Whiskers was a cat,” Vernie shrugged. “I couldn’t get the bowtie on him and scoot him in the front door without a treat, now could I?”

“You managed to put a bowtie on a cat?” That was probably the most unbelievable part of the whole thing. Chester would have never ever let me do something like that!

Hi yall, this is a snippet from my recent episode, chapter 14. It's a romance story set in the victorian era with a twist on the enemies to lovers trope. If that interests you, please give it a read!

Snippet:

“Nikkolas,” I say delicately, meaning to address his thievery, “What are you doing with my hat?”

“It’s as you said, Avalor,” he replies, bringing the headwear close to seemingly examine it, “I’m to attend to my own personal affairs.” His mockery of my words makes me doubtful of his initial concurrence.

“Forgive me,” I ask flatly, raising a brow at him, “but am I to presume you have plans that involve my hat?”

“No, it is rather that I have plans with the owner of this hat,” he affirms, tilting his head at me.

“Yes, well, it would appear you might have to postpone,” I assert, reaching out to grab my boater, “As I have other matters to attend to.”

“Matters that don’t involve me?” he smirks, pulling his hand away from my advance, “Yet you said you must attend to your personal affairs.” As His Grace begins treading backwards, I follow him in pursuit. “Tell me, Avalor, am I not personal to you?” he prods. Ignoring him, I take another try at seizing my headwear from his clutches. He steps back in my approach, dangling in front of me what is rightfully mine.

Hello there! I'm back! :))

Here's a brand new episode of Chasing Grief, a story in poetry form about a woman who lost her love and tries to navigate her feelings of loss and grief. For this, she ventures through life, death, and everything in between to find answers to all her questions, and to maybe reconcile with her heart. This story is full of imagery, emotions, and feelings, so if you are into those, please give it a shot! :)) Chasing Grief has already concluded and this episode is a Tapas-exclusive chapter; a thank-you for your support during Inksgiving <3

Please enjoy this snippet:

I reached the lake and there a boat awaits my stride
As if asking, "Where to next, our willful bride?"
"I know you're not here to claim me, oh gentle Death," I said
"Take me to where life awaits me." And so we sailed on ahead

“In my dream…” I paused, getting to the tricky part. Paltering, more commonly known as lying with the truth, is an art best suited for professionals like politicians and CEOs. I didn’t have enough experience with it to be called a master, but I had been taught the basics.

Hi guys, just uploaded chapter 15 of my romance story set in the victorian era with a twist on the enemies to lovers trope. If that interests you, give it a read! Below is a link along with a snippet of the recent chapter so I would love for you to check it out!

Snippet:

Rebecca was just finishing the overlays of my gown when she started to remark about the handful of letters she’s delivered this past week. “If you don’t mind my saying, My Lady, it would seem quite thoughtful of His Grace to have written to you.” Though I consider her attempt at conversation hails from a place of goodwill, she is sorely mistaken in her impression of the future duke.

“Quite,” I smile with widened eyes, “Though, I’m not certain ‘thoughtful’ would be the best term to describe him.”

“Oh,” Rebecca pauses, curious, “What might be preferable?”

“Well,” I suggest slyly, reaching for the letter opener, “Perhaps he is more accurately described as calculated, seen as how I wouldn’t assume sending a drove of love letters is very considerate.”

“Ah, well,” Rebecca answers, with a wavering certainty, “Forgive me if I’ve overstepped my boundaries.” She starts a retreat for the mattress to busy herself with the task of bedding.

“Of course not, Rebecca,” I console, puncturing the envelope, “It wasn’t you who wrote each painstaking letter - that fault alone lies with His Grace.”

“Certainly,” Rebecca agrees, fluffing my pillows. Tearing through the letter’s lip, I set the knife aside. I slip my fingers into the envelope, and lift out yet another poorly timed note. I shoot a blinded glare at the ink penmanship before pinching the top of the page with either hand. The drawn out sound of my tearing it in half alerts my handmaids of my disdain. “My Lady,” Rebecca perks up, stunned by my response. “What might you be doing - if you don’t mind my asking, that is?” she quickly clarifies.

“Hmm?” I retort aloofly, rising from my seat, “I’m merely doing what any lady would have done had she received a letter from the likes of His Grace.”

I haven't posted in awhile so here’s a small snippet of my latest chapter “Fools be Damned”

She forced him to nod his head at her remark, and I saw the look of horror on Lucien's face as he witnessed her elongated jaw move. It twisted and curled with bone spurs protruding out of her tight skin. She was a nightmare that was coming to life before my eyes.

“Thank you,” Alice said, looking up, finding Aurum’s face much closer to hers than she expected. She froze, eyes wide, caught in the pale golden gaze. Aurum’s irises were ringed with a brilliant, pale silver; Alice had never noticed that before. Her face suddenly warm, Alice flicked her gaze away only to have it catch on Aurum’s lips. With her heart stuttering oddly in her chest, she stumbled backward, landing heavily on a small branch. It snapped loudly, and Aurum’s face went pale as she started.

Just posted chapter 19, Doubts and Fears, of Raindrops on a Window! Alice and Aurum have finally embarked on their adventure, with plenty of angsty trust issues between them.

Synopsis: A romance between a woman and the princess of her favorite story. When Alice is thrown into the world of the novel, she and the princess are forced to work together to fight against a mysterious witch. To save the entire kingdom from a horrible ending, they need to learn to trust each other and themselves.

Harahel found herself standing in a dark, damp dungeon, with only the dim light of a torch to guide her way. The sound of dripping water echoed through the cavernous space. She looked around and saw Taliesin, her old god, chained to the wall. He looked weak and haggard, his eyes sunken and his skin pale.

"Harahel," he croaked, his voice barely audible. "Is that you?" Harahel rushed over to him, her heart heavy with sorrow. "Yes, it's me," she said, her voice breaking with emotion.

"Why did you abandon me," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Harahel's heart sank as his words etched in her mind. “Now you know how I feel.” Harahel knew that voice She looked up and saw Antioch standing at the end of the hallway, his eyes glowing with malice.

"Sing me a song, brother," Antioch sneered. "A song about heartbreak and betrayal” Harahel's heart raced as she realized what Antioch wanted. She looked over at Taliesin, fear in her eyes. "Please do not sing," she said urgently. But Taliesin looked at her like a scorned lover and began to sing.
