Despite how many books I filled up in High School, only one survived.
Kinda wish it had stayed that way. Can't look at it directly without barfing.

Contrasted against the most recent page I drew.
Can't wait until I'm good enough to hate this one too.

When I started writing my novel I was informed I wasn't giving enough descriptions of what people looked like and what they were doing so that readers could 'see' the scenes. But by the end my editor told me he felt like he was 'watching a movie' so I call that a win!

When I started writing my audio dram, I forgot to include dialog that set the scene, since viewers again, can't see what's going on, but I learned to do that pretty quickly and make sure it was still entertaining and not to exposition-y (my producer kept insisting I write in a narrator but I resisted that tooth and nail and still wrote clear and interesting scene settings, so hah!)

The top row shows my original character concepts for Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy days. This was literally the first drawing that I did when I got my new Surface Pro 8. It was also the first drawing I'd done in 25 years, and I was still using the style I had used in high school.

I hated it.

The second row shows when I actually put some time and effort into the designs.

My drawing style continued to improve, though.

The background was still pretty plain, so I set to work on improving my backgrounds:

As an example a fight scene page from the original Karamador comic from late 2007 (which I discontinued in 2012 and is non-canon), and another from modern Karamador from 2023. I think I was good at detailing back in 2007 but not at anatomies or poses among other things.
