Originally, my comics were a way to bring sense to my life.
I made my first comics when I was working in finance controlling. My job was to set standards and control variation on a 1k+ people factory. It was so easy that the implication of the process scared me. So I made a story, to dig deeper, reflect on what I was doing, and enlarge it. To reflect on how standards and norms were set, and how we agree/refuse to go along. It was cathartic to me, and hopefully help readers to get a better feel on standardization mechanism in a non boring way...
My current comics popped from a similar logic. I work in a field where ‘efficiency’ is used all the time. It’s almost risible... the word is so worn out and abused that it lost its meaning, but it remains and incredibly effective communication tool to make people do all sort of things against their own interest... so I make story about that, stripping the efficiency myth through a character which is efficiency personified...
