Since I'm OP, I'll go first

Well, ever since I was young like around 7 to 11, watching an episode of Yu Yu Hashuko mimicking each episode with handmade toys made out of aluminum foil and in tears watching Pokemon The First Movie the "clone fight" scene. I knew I wanted do something regrading storytelling but the specifics came later.

Storytelling is immersive, a play of emotions that can make people cry, angry, happy and turn fantasy into reality--until whatever show is done playing. I know the times when i was sad, depressed and it seemed as if no one else was there. A good story rather its a movie, comic-book or a story from video games taught me a set of life lessons to use in my everyday life, to push myself to the next level. Some other stories that helped me grow as a person is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to movies like Grave Of The Fire Flies. I want to do my best to teach & help people going through their hard times with storytelling and if my story doesn't help you-- maybe there's another story for you out there...maybe its an undiscovered story on tapastic

Anyway, long story short, I love inspiring people and making people go "WOW" in writing. This is something that's apart of me and I feel that I have this calling to bring my story: Osca to people. This is something I NEED to do or else I'll be really depress if I'm not expanding on the story. This is something I'd still do even if money didn't exist and even if it doesn't reach a lot people. One day I got the idea for designing personified characters based on the "big 3" gaming console creators and it just continued from there, with me making more game company characters and eventually a comic. I started to really like these characters and thought making these comics was fun and well, here I am today.

I've always been into reading comics and I have plenty of ideas for stories. Everything from tv shows and video games inspire me and eventually I wanted to make a story of my own. It was after watching movies 2001 a space odyssey and video games like bloodborne and darksouls where the plot and lore is up to the reader to find for themselves. I'm one of those people who loves over analyzing movies and video games and I wanted to make a story where it was a key feature of that. Afterimage is the kind of story that doesn't tell you everything and a lot of things are inferred and everything is connected in some way or another. So basically I got into comics because I like world building and overthinking things and also because I can't write to save my life.

Grassblades is my main project right now.

I started making comics in general because I I've always been reading comics. I am literally raised on comics - my mom used to read me Asterix as bedtime stories. I didn't start making comics until I was a teenager - unless you count that sprawling epic of an illustrated story I made when I was 7 - but I've always, always been telling stories. And I've always loved drawing. One day, I decided to combine the two.

Grassblades in particular was born out of my love for samurai movies and Asian costume dramas and wandering swordsmen and awkward makeshift families learning to get along and oh gosh, all the things. It's everything I like chucked in a blender and set to 'high'.

While I didn't really start working on City of Blank until high school, I came up with the story and most of the characters in 6th or 7th grade.
Really, it all began in middle school when I was at the peak of my..."weeaboo-ness." (I even called my friends "-Chan" and "-Kun" and baka. Dark times.) I went through the short lived phase of "I wanna move to Japan and be a mangaka!"
THANKFULLY I outgrew that pretty quick, but I still had a lot of interest in these stories that I had made. I started to develop the worlds and characters by role playing it with my childhood best friend, where she developed a few of the characters that later on became the main characters in my comic today.
However, I never really got into actual comic making until these things called OCT (Original Character Tournaments) started popping up on DeviantArt. It was basically this contest where you all enter your characters in this fictional competition where they (usually) fight tournament-style for a winner. You're paired up with a random opponent and you each make a comic about how your character defeated the other person's character and the comic the judges like best move onto the next round. It was LOTS of fun and is honestly what got me into making comics I think, even if I did have one fairly popular comic on Deviant Art before entering them. I think that's what made me fall in love with making them.
As fun as the OCTs were though, I was craving to work on my own plot and characters, so I eventually quit the OCT I was in to begin the early version of my current comic! It's been a good 5 or so years since I started it and now I'm back into the swing of working on City of Blank more than ever.

I've always loved visual media and their ability to tell stories. So I began emulating what I saw on TV and in my picture books at an early age. My love for drawing just branched off from there. My comics are pet projects, something to show for myself. I'm glad to entertain other people along the way, but really it's ultimately for me. Unless I'm designing/drawing something specifically to be sold or given to another person, whatever I produce it is for my own enjoyment. I like looking back and seeing the things I've completed, so these three series are part of that.

I'm glad you asked this question because lots of people don't know my reasons behind writing swipe city and they get the wrong idea on first look, nice to have a chance to explain. (sorry this is such a long post )

my comic is Tales From Swipe City and writing it keeps me sane.

Now first glance of my Drama comic makes some people get it all wrong and sadly I have been judged by my writing it in the past, but what I am creating is an alternate view of a society that in some ways make more sense to me than this one does.

Swipe city is about a city in America that has taken a moral stand and gone independent. the laws work different there and wait for it .... Parents and teachers can punish children ! ( I know in this world of ours this is wrong, you can draw zombies and killing no problem, but show a bad kid getting a smack and it's "Your Demon!!!")

well the truth of it is yes you might see the odd spanking in swipe city ( never on the bare and I post warnings before hand) but it's more about the society, family relationships, friendships and working relationships within this city than the actual punishments. it's about how characters got into trouble in the first place and the links between story lines (because revenge is always on the cards)

now why do I write about this stuff?

In truth it makes sense to me much more than the real world does now. When I was a child you did bad ,you got in trouble and everybody knew where they stood and where the lines of respect were, both at home and in school. little by little the world chipped away at this stuff saying parents could not do this and that was wrong and every time they did society suffered a little more and with it the lines of respect were lost. ( and i'm talking in general here not trying to be personal with anyone.)

so I thought what world would I build if I were the Mayor of a town that I made the laws? and Swipe city was born. a place where kids know the adults are the boss ( but it don't mean they behave lol ), a place where drugs are not on the streets. but like i say in the comic anything can happen in swipe city. by season four you will see heroes, mobsters, clones, ninjas cyborgs and a few angry Mothers.

My manga is called Model Student!~^^

I have been seriously making manga about 6 years ago and mostly made action/fantasy work. But this time I tried out romance for a change!~xD lol I've always wrote stories and mini comics since I was very young and showed them to friends mostly. So part of me always love making comics/stories that people would enjoy. It mostly started out with me wanting to become an author at first but after many years of drawing anime and stuff I decided to try out making manga of my own.

My comic is called Aetherwing!

I actually got into webcomics fairly recently, having not really known anything about them until college. Up until that point I'd been developing a sci-fi story that I had been working on since my senior year in high school. I figured comics would be a good way to make my work more easily accessible, and I wasn't the best writer (although I'm not god awful.) I love storytelling and I had just gotten into drawing when I started college.

I started work on Aetherwing very recently (maybe a year ago?) And I wanted to work on this particular story because I wanted to do something with angels, and I wanted to use it as a learning experience to feel out how I want to make comics in the future and develop a style. I'm going to be sort of putting myself through a gauntlet of different types of characters, environments, and monsters. Also I really love the story we've come up with for it. This is my first full-on fantasy story (I'm a sci-fi girl at heart.)

I also like to create things that I would want to read, but I haven't really seen in anything else yet. I like to immerse myself in this new place and create interesting characters and unique environments.

The Chronicles of SolLuna came from the desire to tell stories as well as drawing. Truth be told, I seriously started getting into drawing comics since 2013, but before then, it was a hobby while I was studying animation. When that didn't work, I switched to Visual Effects, but all the while I kept drawing. It wasn't until the 'Crash' of VFX jobs that I looked at the early version of my comic, and decided that I wanted to give comics a try.

As for the story itself; well it came from my love for Steampunk, science fiction and fantasy. However, the main character himself existed originally as a cyberpunk drawing that I made in 2009, but later made him into the steampunk sword-wielding, magic gun-slinging character that you see in the image above.

My manga is called Life of an Aspie

I like many others am not new to comic making. In fact, I've been drawing my own comics since the third grade. I've been traditional most of my life, but for the last couple of years, I've been making the conversion to digital which I prefer in some ways. Mostly all the time saving tools Manga Studio 5 offers that makes it faster for me to churn out art.

Anyway, Life of an Aspie is a shoujo comic I've had floating around in my head for over 4 years now. Only now am I finally putting my thoughts on drawing paper. My aim is to tell a story that has elements of shoujo, but really can't be classified as a simple shoujo manga. Also, I feel a female led manga where the heroine has some form of autism (Asperger's in my main character's case which I also have irl) is uncharted waters for graphic novels as a whole regardless of the protaganist's gender, so therefore, I feel like I'm really giving a form of value by making Life of an Aspie as opposed to making a plain vanilla shoujo manga which can be fun, but too predictable at times imo.

One of Us has a long story has a long story in his creation!
I started to make the first artwork and ideas 7 years ago when I was 15, in that period my art skill wasn't very good and the first ideas were full of clichè of anime. Over time my skill has improved and so the complexity of my characters but, the main problem was the environment because I didn't have any idea and, after a year; I decided to make a wild environment with a tribal society because they join very with the characters. After that I created the species of the wild world with their charaterics, society, religion and philosophy. Then I converted my fantasy into a sci-fi story after I took the idea of world-time travelling and also because I tended to make a logical biology of all my characters. With all these little ideas I made my own immaginary Universe and I'm so saturated of it that I don't need to make an initial script of my chapters because I feel like I'm there to represent on paper what's happening in that moment. That's all for now.....

I hope you have found it interesting its "behind the scenes" story because it's very important for me to make this comic and I hope to let a little sign to my readers.
Now there is only 1 chapter because I need a lot of time to make every page, I'm obsessed with details, but it's near the end (still 2 pages)

My comic is called Lucky Hazard. Has a tiny amount of subscribers, but nonetheless I hold them dear to my heart.

My comic's main cast was conceptualized in 4th grade, and I redesigned them to where they are now. I wanted to basically tell a grand story about all these characters in a doomed world, so I decided to start my comic. At first, in 4th grade, my comic was a 4-panel comedy comic. As time grew on, I had the need to tell a story. Mostly due to personal satisfaction. The story starts out slow because I want to focus on the characterization, and how every character grows close to one another. I also enjoy comics such as One Piece or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, as well as things like K-On! and Yotsuba&.

I'm 1/3rd of the team that creates Kamikaze.

We actually started out as a pitch for an animated series! My husband and I (animation background), and our partner in crime (design background) worked for a good two years pulling the artwork together for the project. The original idea came about way back in 2004, but over time changed. Eventually we got to pitch the series to folks like Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, etc and pretty much everyone LOVED it, but...well...we weren't Batman. We didn't have that 'fanbase' they could springboard off of. So the team sat down and tried to figure out what we could do. It came down to two options:
1. Make an animated short
2. Make it a comic
Happily we made it a comic and our successes have only pushed us further forward! I love the comic community, and the encouraging atmosphere around it. Animation can be a grindhouse some time, and I'm glad we chose the comic route because that means we can really polish and shine our project without going crazy in budget for a 1 minute short. It's the like the difference between an entire fire work display (the slow build and ramp up to more fans and good story w/ the comic) vs...a bottle rocket (Oooooo...pop!....and it's over. That was a neat video, OH A KITTY ON A PIANO).

Well, my comic is about these colors living in the Nothingness, a strange and random place where anything can happen. It's called Room for Improvement and I really hope more people read it. While it's more of a gag comic, I am currently doing a sorta story thing. But i wanted to choose this comic path because I wanna make people laugh, plain and simple. Also, I REALLY wanted to avoid the slice of life kinds of comics because there's so many of them out there and I feel like sometimes they're the same comic in their substance. Idk, they all hve the similar vibe of, "look at me I'm quirky, check out my quirky lifestyle". Granted, i can see why people like them (and I know some people that have slice of like comics and i like them a lot) and i don't mean any offense to those who have these kinds of comics, but I wanted something a bit more... original? I just wanted something i can tell jokes with, and do it with unique characters. But enough ranting XD. Here's the characters.

My main project at the time is Fallacy which I've been working on slightly over 2 years now so it's quite new still. It's also the first comic I've seriously drawn or stuck with.

I started to read a lot of comics around the middle school when I got hooked on manga and realized that there's a huge variety outside of Donald Duck or horse comics that were published on specialized magazines. As the years went by I started to read even broader variety of comics and did some tests on (very stupid) ideas I had but they didn't go anywhere beyond few pages. Although in high school I managed to create a whole plot and plenty of characters but even that didn't really go anywhere as working on it took so long I realized how horrible the whole setting and plot were before I got too far in drawing. I let the idea go and didn't do anything else than reading comics for few years.

Then I happened to attend a panel in convention where a few Finnish webcomic makers were talking and especially Leppu (Prague Race) inspired me to finally dust off the old ideas, tear them down and redo everything in something I could be proud of. And then I started to draw. For the first 6 or so months I was going at it really slowly and treated it only as a hobby but as I started to figure how comics work I got really really hooked and realized that this is actually something I'd love to do professionally.
