I haven't shared an unpopular opinion on here for a while, but one recently came to mind: I don't think Alita: Battle Angel looks bad. Not really. Yeah, keeping the anime eyes was a weird choice, but I don't really mind it. Like, I think I'll notice it for like ten minutes and then just forget about it for the rest of the movie.

I don't think the silhouette test is that necessary in most creative applications. I mean, as long as all your characters aren't copies and recolors of each other you're fine.

The only time I've found silhouettes to be useful are in games like Overwatch. Each character has a certain stance so when you see them from a distance or with sonic arrows/infra-sight you know who you're dealing with.

The Last Jedi is the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. And I think this version of Luke is the most compelling version of him.

I think people who complain about not improving are just lazy people who would rather scream at the ether than actually try and improve by all means necessary or are just stubborn fools who would rather blindly follow their emotions and fall of a cliff than admit that they are wrong

When i was a kid, my brother had 3 turtles (the ones who live in land, not water, i guess those are tortoises).

They were so smart they escaped a cardboard box by climbing over each other and then dropping the box. Every evening they dug a little near some bars that lead to the outside of the house. One day they escaped and we never found them again.

I had a turtle when I was a kid, once it disappeared for almost a month and appeared in an old broken toilet later (WTF!) lol.

I never really see that either being that's the majority rather than the smaller minority. Besides that if anything i'd say in American it be Mexicans that take up most jobs being that they do jobs others won't do as easily, Then there are more Caucasians doing White collar jobs etc. Though in terms of the men thing..well i guess another job would be nurses in hospitals maybe. But they generally do have men to help lift people etc. so i can mainly say just teaching if anything and even there aren't most teachers you meet Caucasian anyway?

Whatever the case, I don't think the whole thing has, nor needs any explanation based on the reality of the what's going on on the ground, it's very clear to me that all this representation business is just specific groups advocating for their own at the expense of all others, and not the principle of blind equality as stated.

I mean, I still believe there is a need for more "minorities" to be in technology. Emerging tech has so much of a stake in the future that gigantically skewed racial/gender/etc. ratios will definitely present a barrier to an equitable society. Skewed ratios in fields like nursing--while important, no doubt--will probably not matter nearly as much in a future where 80% of our current jobs have been replaced by computers. I think that, for the most part, the intentions are correct--just the ways that people are trying to make it happen are in need of desperate improvement and often doing more harm than good to the reputations of those they claim to help the most.

But what should we be doing? That's a lot harder to answer.

Edit: lol sorry this is moreso in reference to the first few posts in the comment chain than the most recent couple. Just trying to address this one specific case with technology; although it could be applied to a lot of emerging fields. People of particular races/genders (i.e. Caucasians, men) aren't usually pushed into fields because their group is perceived by the public to already saturate the "important" (not actually important, just ones whose actions have the biggest direct repercussions on most of society) ones.

wait the original Sonic R? I admit the soundtrack is okay but the issue most seem to have is mechanics as far as actually being able to successfully navigate the courses

I'm just hoping the new Sonic R they teased recently is good but with vehicle designs/mechanics that differ from what was already introduced in Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing

I just... Can't stand Final Fantasy, with two exceptions: Tactics Advance and Crystal Chronicles. I love those two games and put many hours into it as a kid. As for the rest, I think they're super boring, the characters are so one dimensional and standard and I find a lot of their designs (especially the modern games) super ridiculous and obnoxious... Yeah. Granted I've only played a few/watched playthroughs of a few others but it was enough to steer me away. But hey! I'm sure I like a ton of stuff that people feel the same way about.

Greatest Showman was a snoozefest. It seems that everyone loved it to bits when it came out, but personally the characters annoyed the hell out of me. It was especially annoying because right when you think that they're gonna resolve a conflict, they start SINGING. And there was a horrible pop song every 20 minutes! I had a pounding headache by the end of the film because my ear was ringing with autotune and cheesy drumbeats. Yugh. Overall the movie was boring to me.

Seriously. I love my parent's big doggie but I would never subject him or any big dog to my apartment with a medium sized patio garden. My little dog is super happy with his little patio and three walks a day. I think it helps that he's a total lap dog and only wants to be where his people are, he was found as a stray so I think he's had his fair share of ruffing it (ha) outside.

We in North America are at a point where we got an aging population and declining birth rates. If this doesn't get reversed means economic disaster. How to counter this?

1) reject the mental poisons of feminism and MGTOWism. Seriously both ideologies just make men and women fight each other and give each other a warped view of the opposite sex. Not all men are abusive drunkard players who wanna just fuck and leave, not all women are out to manipulate and trump up false sexual harrasment and rape charges. Most men and women have feminist and MGTOW ideology these days even if they're not card carrying members.

Also stop encouraging gender confusion in the schools. Kids are already confused as is. Yeah I get it some naturally would gravitate to being LGBT. Don't bully them. But don't encourage em either. Let them be.

2) tax breaks and government money to everything related to having children. Birth paid for(or partially depending on income level), and $100-$150 a month per child 15 and under and $50-$75 from 16-18. Daycare paid for partially or completely depending on income level.

3) more romance movies should be produced and tax breaks and grants given to film companies that do such movies. Has to be realistic though to stop reinforcing unrealistic standards of men and women. He doesn't need to be extremely handsome or rich and she doesn't have to be a pornstar.
