I'm not denying that some of the entries are sub-par, but a lot of time and money goes into making each performance- the least a person can do is find the good entries and showcase those as examples of what Eurovision is.

Riverdance was the best thing to happen to Eurovision and it wasn't even an act. That's that.

Onto the topic.

First, I think the HP series is mediocre and I would not read them again. JK Rowling has her strengths, for sure, but it was a serious ordeal getting through the last few books. They felt cobbled together, and I found the Snape character arc thing so rubbish I almost put the book down.

Second, speaking as a Brit, when I see someone fly the English flag, I think they're a moron. It's knee jerk. Can't help it. For some reason this doesn't apply to anyone else, just the English, so you go ahead, Welshies. You're alright.

Third, spiders are cool. I like to pick them up.

Most people I meet find it REALLY disgusting to find a hair in their food. I'd get it if if was a short and curly, but a nice, long hair.. I'm sorry, I just don't see the issue. Hair is one of the nicest things on a person, why does everyone freak out the second it's off the body. Honestly, I don't even mind if it gets in my mouth before I notice it. Just pick it out and move on.

My main problem is the first thing one of my friend showed was a clip from the first episode, when one of the Lannister pushed a child from a window. he told me "yeah see it's SO BADASS". It's not BADASS, it's crual. He told me after that the Lannister were brother and sister who really, really love each others. Okay, there was incest in medieval time, so I'm less shocked.
Plus the fact when people started to talk about it, it was just about how hot Daenerys was (sorry if I don't write it correctly) with her tatas, how great this character died when decapitated or whatever. I just saw violence and cruality.
Then people who saw further than with sex and violence told me about the real story and I can still say that I'm not interested in!

For the book, the moment he read to me was a girl being raped (I don't remember which one) and told me "yeah but she's going to be stronger after, she's a real woman" and everything, like it was a girl power. Again, I disagree. Raping all women from your story won't always make them stronger, and it's also not a fun fact of the day. Again yeah, it was something about that time blah blah.
And then, he started to write like Martin would write, by adding raping and men not caring about this and with the violence that goes with this.

So yeah, those are my two cents about GoT. I just don't like it.

Oh. Oh no! >.< I totally agree with you there - Jaime Lannister throwing a child out of a window is NOT badass in ANY way!

And it isn't intended to be, either. It's supposed to show that Jaime is a cruel, short-sighted and stupid man who does terrible things without worrying about the consequences. I mean, I love reading about Jaime - he's one of my favourite characters - but that's because I like reading about flawed, broken characters, NOT because I think he does awesome things. Gosh.

And the tv-show version of Jaime is actually worse than the book-version. I mean, both versions throw kids out of towers, which is horrible - but at least in the book, he never rapes his sister. They still have an incestous relationship, but he never rapes her - which the tv-show has him doing. Because rape, or something. Gah!

How is that a valid comparison? A cosplayer doesn't sell stuff at a convention. Also, selling to cosplayers can be really fun if you acknowledge the character they're dressed up as. You can get some easy sales out of them, and I got quite a few requests to draw people in their cosplay. Though some are reluctant to buy stuff because they don't have pockets/bags on them :V And then there's cosplayers who block tables with their giant outfits, but honestly there's plenty of non-cosplayers who do the same.
Anyway, if anyone is stealing your business, it's probably not these guys. Chances are it's inadequate promotion/management of the con or dealer tables full of bootlegged wares.

I reaaaallly hate swearing with a passion. No matter where I hear it, even if its becoming the norm or not, I cringe on the inside whenever I hear it. If I could cut off my own middle fingers just so that I could never flip the bird by accident or on purpose, I would. Actually, I feel bad for the middle finger, being discriminated for being the tallest finger. It needs to be loved more, and perhaps redefined as not a bad thing, but a normal finger.

Whatever you do, do not watch or look up the song "where is thumbkin?". It apparently caused a lot of controversy because of this very finger. Free the middle finger from its stereotype!!!!!

My point is that when you look at images of conventions on internet or television, what do you see? More often it is cosplayers. It's just that at conventions more people gravitate to them because they are interesting to look at and they are not selling anything. I think they take away focus from exhibiters.
I don't think it is fair that cosplayers get more attention when exhibiters are paying way more money to try and get noticed for their art or books. I think that's bullshit and that's just my extremely unpopular opinion.

But actually I'm going to stop going to conventions anyways because they are a big waste of time and money, not just for exhibiters but for potential customers. I think most people don't buy stuff at conventions because they have to pay like $10 admission plus $15 for travel/parking. After paying $25 they are going to be way less likely to buy a $10 comic book.

zine tests are much better in my opinion. It's like $20 to exhibit and the audience is a lot more mellow than normal comic convention goers and usually no cosplayers.

Actually, I think cosplay can draw more attention if a people on your booth IS a cosplayer! It is what happened to one of the ladies on our booth ; she was cosplayed and people paid more attention to her, but also to our booth. As we got a sort of wheel of fortune, she just stayed near it, allowing people to take a photo with her, but she also talked about the wheel. Customers almost always took a chance and played.
So, if you can take cosplay at your advantage for big convention, just do it!

I totally get this. Having tried all sorts of chocolate and candy from different places and companies, Hersheys is really just ok. I've also been drinking soda very infrequently lately in favor of tea or water (or alchohol lol). I also really don't like M&M's. I used to love them, but the last couple of times I tried them they didn't taste remotely appealing. My sister still drinks and eats a lot of this stuff and sometimes I find myself asking her how she can stand to eat/drink something so ridiculously sweet.

Gardians of the Galaxy is not that awesome, the costume designs are horrible and lazy, the only person that actually dose anything worth while is Startlord (besides the one time groot and rocket did something) because the plot demands that he is most awesome cause main Character. The female character is a trained assassin and she is the worst assassin ever. Drax is an amazing character but after a while he just becomes a gimmick.

(repeating myself) The costume designs are horrible. the variety is blue people, pink people, and green people..... the fuck

rocket and groot are awesome tho so id never deny watching it again with a friend
