Yeah. I actually prefer seeing people detail why they think a certain way, because in other internet forums (reddit, twitter, etc) it quickly becomes an echo-chamber where the one dissenter is chastised, exiled, even stalked and doxxed in some extreme cases. It would be nice, for once, to have an actual dialogue. I know a thousand times over why people don't like something these days, but not a whole lot about /why others do/ unless it's a strawman from the other side purposefully misrepresenting them. I guess that's my unpopular opinion, every side should be heard. We shouldn't be so quick to shut discussion down just because some people don't like the opinions being expressed.

Discussion is great! But when the initial post is pretty negative towards the opposing viewpoint and reeks of a holier-than-thou air to it, it's difficult for many to resist creating a textual repartee.

Not saying that it has happened here in this thread yet, but in the bitching thread a key part of the problem was that the initial bitch was full of judgement and vitriol against the perceived nay-sayers of the poster's statements. And things just caught fire.

The Tragically Hip is a band whose lead singer recently died and Mike MacDonald was a comedian who everyone in the country thought was funny but me, who also recently died, and I'm the only one in the country not heartbroken over both lol. I'm sad that they died because death is sad, but it hasn't shaken my world.

I'm not a big fan of "bean mouth" when it comes to animation and comics/drawing, like there's nothing "wrong" or "ugly" about them but it just -- it bugs me a lot

And also that thing that artists do where they draw a character screaming and they put... a hEART in the mouth? What does that mean? What does it represent? Why? WHY! I think some popular animatic person named Galactibun (??) started the whole art style and I see it. Everywhere. It confuses me.

I usually put a heart in someone’s mouth when I want to give their expression an extra cute touch. Like to emphasize that they are positively react to something (love struck or so). Dunno if that’s the proper usage of it, because it doesn’t really fit the screamming thing.
but for a love struck expression I find that very appealing :3

I have been rewatching (or more like it's been playing in the background as I draw) Gilmore Girls and I have come to the conclusion that this whole Team Dean/Tristin/Jess/Logan/whatever is all bad and the only good relationship Rory has is with Paris. In my opinion, they would've made a more interesting couple.

Also, Lane should've been a rock star with an amazing boyfriend and none of that nonsense that happened in the later seasons.

The nose gets crapped on because of overuse in fan art. Many critics complain about the misuse of it because it's usually a cartoon symbol for character being drunk, having a skin disease, or having a cold.
